What will you do for Christ in 2012??

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord....
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings as eagles....
Rejoice in the Lord alway and again I say rejoice.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea than much fine gold purer also than honey and the honeycomb.....

These are just a few scriptures that I love!! We had taken and this past yr memorized a verse a wk, which as you know is 52 verses for the yr!
What will you do this yr?
Study to shew thyself approved....

We are working on many things this yr
Each of us will set goals for seeing people saved in 2012
We will each set a goal of how many verses we'll learn in 2012.
Each person has their own goal for Bible Reading in 2012
These are just a few things we're going to do.
If you think about it, the world isn't getting better and if it were to ever get to the point Bibles are forbidden, I pray to the Lord that NEVER happens. If it did though NO one can take away what you have put to heart and memorized!!

So my question to you is What are you going to do for Christ in 2012?

What has God done for you in 2011

We were sitting around the table on Dec 26th when we had our family Christmas and talking. During that it was neat how the children started talking of things that the Lord had done for them, a friend, or the family through out the yr.

With Sunday being New Years Day, why not stop and think back on what God has done for you through 2011 and what he could and will do for you in 2012.

May God bless you and yours as we enter into a New Year!

Marriage is a Commitment!

Titus 2: 1-5 Read now..... "That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,"

As wives and moms we are taught to love our husbands and children. In Ephesians 5:22-28 we are told in one verse "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it:" As you read the 2 passages given today you'll see they are familiar in one respect. Titus 2 says that the wife if to love the husband, then in Ephesians 5 the husband is told to love the wife.

Now my question is do you have Agape love as is spoken of in Ephesians or Phileo love as is spoke of in Titus? Here's 6 truths regarding Phileo and Agape love.

1. Man most wants phileo love or affection from his wife; woman most wants agape  love or deep, abiding love from her husband.

2. Phileo love or affection from a woman will stir agape love or a deep, abiding love from a man; agape love from a man will stir phileo love in a woman.

3. There is less of a need to command a woman to have agape love than there is in a man, and there is less of a need to command a man to have phileo love than there is in a woman.

4.There is no place in the Bible where a woman is commanded to have agape love nor is there a single place in the Bible where a man is commanded to have phileo love.

We are commanded to give not what we want or need, but what the other wants and needs.

5. We should not try to be a good wife or a good husband, and we should not expect to receive the exact love that we give.

6. A man needs to feel needed and attractive; a lady needs to feel protected, loved, and cherished.

Do you agape or phileo your wife/husband?

Marriage is a Commitment!

Read Ephesians 5:21-19 How are you enjoying the lessons. I did forget mention that my points are coming from a booklet Dr Jack Hyles wrote. I believe that in today's world we occasionally need a reminder of how our marriages should be. So many think homosexuals, lesbians are acceptable. I may be sticking my neck out by saying its WRONG but if we don't take a stand for right, who will?!

Here's the last 5 points to our first part of Marriage is a commitment not an agreement.

16. Go out on a weekly date with your spouse. I've been married for 20 yrs and I could probably count on one hand the number of times we didn't have our weekly date! Those date nights are so very crucial for a marriage. There has been times that the date night was a life saver, as well as refreshing spending time with my husband without the children.
Don't be afraid to get a sitter for your children you will be grateful you did this!

17. One of the marriage partners should care for the couples finances, and the other should live on an allowance.

18. Do not have joint bank accounts.

19. Do not try to be a good mate; try to give your spouse what he or she needs.

20. Apply to your spouse all Bible verses about the treatment of others.

The last 4 I've not touched on as much an they must be something that you do after prayer and talking with your spouse about changes.

These are very simple principles which has been taught to many many couples. If you will follow them they will work! I pray that your marriage will see changes because of these 20 steps.

Marriage is a Commitment!

Read Ephesians 5:21-29 I realize I'm using the same passage each time, but this passage hits it right on the nail for our marriages.

If you are just coming in on this topic the 2 post before this will take you the beginning. I pray that if you are engaged, newly married or married for 20 yrs as my hubby and I are, that you will take a look at your relationship and make the changes needed.

11. Do not run with single people of either sex. You say, but I'm married there's nothing to worry about. Stop right there.... IT CAN BE DANGEROUS!!! A marriage will be ruined because one or both people of the marriage want the joys of marriage and the joys of their single life! You can't have both "worlds" when you say, "I Do" you have left the single world and entered the world of marriage. You say duh.... I know that! Well, then be ware hanging around with the old boyfriend/girlfriend is very UNHEALTHY!!!

12. Put your mate before your children. When you married it was you and your spouse. After the children come it's still you and your mate with the blessing of a child(ren). Once they grow up and move out it's again ONLY you and your spouse!
Keep this order in your marriage and you will go far
1. God
2. Your spouse
3. Your children

13. Put your mate before your parents. As a parent who has a daughter really close to marring age, I would hate for her to put me first. When she marries the one who is first in her life is God then her husband then her father and I.

14. Never criticize your in-laws. I have seen this in many marriages where the in-laws are criticized. Stop, Think and realize you wouldn't have your spouse if his/her parents hadn't of married and had her/him. They are just as special and important as your own parents!

15. Keep the mystique in your marriage. This is a series of lessons in itself. However we will touch a little here. Make sure that you keep that mystique in your marriage. As a married coupled we should still treat each other with reserve and formality. We need to keep the mystique in our marriage all the way through!!!

Remember marriage is commitment not an agreement!

Marriage is a Commitment!

Marriage is a commitment! Read Ephesians 5:21-29
6. Do not interfere with your mate's discipline of the children. This is very important, that you do this because the children NEED to see a united front between you and your spouse.
7. Remember, marriage is not an agreement; it is a commitment. When you said I do it wasn't if you do I will. It is I will even if you won't. When You said your vows, hold to what you committed to.
8. Never spurn your mate's affection or desire for affection. I Corinthians 7:1-5 The Bible is very clear here in this regard. If you don't allow the intimate part of your marriage it can destroy your marriage.
9. Let your children go, according to the plan.
Age                                   % Dependence                              % Independence
Birth                                      100%                                             0%
3                                              90%                                            10%
7                                              75%                                            25%
10                                            50%                                            50%
13                                            25%                                            75%
16                                            10%                                            90%
18                                              0%                                          100%

If you notice the %'s change as they get older! Many parents resent the change.
As a mom of a 19 yr old I will admit that letting go is hard!!! My children are between the ages 10 and 18 for my boys and it is not easy but you will realize if you let go a little more at each stage it will be better for you and the child.
10. Do not get to close to another couple. You can destroy not only your marriage but the other couples marriage if you spend to much time together!

Remember that every time you do right by your spouse you are doing right by Jesus!
Keep your marriage, exciting and fun!!!

Marriage is a Commitment!

Dr Jack Hyles - Marriage is not an agreement; marriage is a commitment.
The 4 causes of Divorce : 1. Finances
                                          2. Discipline of Children
                                          3. Problems with love life
                                          4. In-laws

*Every time we do right to our spouses we are doing right to Jesus!
*The I Do's and the I Don'ts of marriage

Read Ephesians 5:21-29
There will be 20 suggestions for you to read and think on, then act on.
1. Never speak disagreement. If something your spouse says you disagree with Don't say anything!!!
2. Divide areas of choice. Have area's you make decisions in and area's your spouse makes decisions in. Then have area's that you make decisions together in.
3.Share interests but no decisions. Having a mutual interest is good for a couple to have. However mutual decision making isn't good.
4. Have some time and activity apart from one another. You need your alone time just as you time together. Having separate interest makes life for a couple alot more interesting!
5. Realize tat you are married to Jesus. Matthew 25:34-40 Did you know you need to God and serve People??? If we don't serve people how can we serve God? If you cloth a person, you cloth Jesus, you feed the hungry, you feed Jesus. The way you treat people is the way you treat Jesus!!!

Come back tomorrow for 5 more points....

Try applying these 5 things to marriage today and see how it helps :) Marriage is made of God if we do as he says you will have a much better marriage. DO I always follow these steps, no because I'm human, but I do my best to follow and I ask the Lord to help me to follow his steps.

Have a great day friend!!!

Are you a Teacher or just a voice?

Philippians 2:5 "Let this mind be in you, which is also in Christ Jesus."

Do you have the mind of Christ when you teach your school class, your children at home, your Sunday School class? Or do you go life blindly not having the right kind of thoughts?

As a wife, mom and teacher my goal and prayer would be that Phil. 2:5 would be my thought.
Do I mess up? yes Do I go into my school days thinking as Christ would? Not always, because I am human. I was thinking back to this past wk. We were running late, things weren't going as they should for the day, as scheduled. We sat down and I just started teaching, Bible went ok, English was rough and I became very upset with my children. Not because I wasn't prepared but because I didn't go into school with the mind of Christ.

As we were about done with English I ask my boys. What did we forget today? They looked at each other an all said, "we didn't pray before starting and we didn't ask God to be in control of our school day." I've told you this because when we teach are we just a voice that the children hear as blah blah blah or do they hear what you are saying because you are in touch with the Lord and because you have said, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus."

Here's a few tips to make sure your prepared for the class:
1. Read through your material
2. Write down ideas
3. Make notes of any items you need to purchase or have for class.
4. Plan ideas that will help your students.
5. Have helpers for your lessons.
6. Know your time limit.

This can applied to teaching your children home whether in school or just teaching them as toddlers, for a classroom in church or school.

Day 10 and 11 of Thankfulness....

Day 10 that we have doctors who know how to help and what to tell us to do when there's a problem.

*Please pray for my son, Caleb, we'll be taking him for an MRI in the next wk or so.

Day 11/11/11 (that's so cool 11/11/11) today for those Men and Women who have served or are serving in the Air  Force, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines, and Army. Sorry if I missed one. I'm proud to say I'm an American and that I live in North America in the GREAT US of A!!!!

Little thought for the day: I John 3:22 "And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, do those things that are pleasing in his sight."

Are you a people pleaser or person pleaser? Who is more important to Please?
It's good that we want to please our parents, our teachers, our Pastor, our spouses. However, we should want to please God first and foremost!

Take a Stand...

Ephesians 6:10-18
"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness."

Do you take stand for what is right?
Do you stand behind our Soilders who are out there to help keep our freedom?
Do you take stand for the Lord Jesus, who gave us freedom from sin and hell?

These are just a few important things we should take a stand for. Taking a stand IS NOT easy! As a matter of fact sometimes taking a stand can be VERY hard.

As day 9 of Thankfulness: I want to say, I'm thankful the Lord gave me Life for which I can take a stand for him.

I love this song:
Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
Ye soilders of the cross,
Lift high His royal banner;
It must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory,
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished
And Christ is Lord indeed.

Why not today, decide to take a stand. For what, you ask. Jesus, the Bible, The cross, for what is right, for your country, for the soilder who has died or is now serving our Country!

Do you have something New your facing?

I enjoy reading and recently I've been reading a book Authored by Dr Jack Hyles (my former Pastor).
.I have several things come into my life that is requiring facing some new task and changes. Well, In Psalm 72 the Author is Solomon, now he had just become King. God gave him one request.
Read I Kings 3:5-12
God gave Solomon one request. Solomon replied to God that he was but like a child and he knew not how to come out and go in. His request was that God give him wisdom and an understanding heart so he would know how to judge properly. It was here that Solomon probably wrote the 72nd Psalm.
Read Psalm 72:1-4
Verse 1 especially bears out Solomons request when he says, "Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son."
Solomon was both the king and the king's son, and here he asking in song what he had asked in I Kings 3:5-12

Just a thought from a great man of God in the book he wrote "The Story Behind The Psalms" and the Bible!

Who's thankful for heat this morning???

What are you Thankful for?? Day 5 and 6

Sorry I missed yesterday, my husband, one of our boys an myself have been so sick. Attempted to go to church this morning and yes, we made it through but had to stay home for the evening. My day 6 is I'm thankful that 3 of my boys are not sick!!

The day 5 that I missed is: That we have a home in which to live, food to eat and place to lay our heads at night! God has been so good to us to give us this place 3 months ago. We've had to do a little work on it, but that is ok. My family has house to call home! :) Thank you Lord.

What are you Thankful for, day 4.

Today thankfulness is also a prayer request!
I'm very thankful for my Daughter, Tabitha! She is such a wonderful young lady and serving the Lord will at college and when at home!

The prayer request is for my daughter. She had a doc appointment and is waiting to hear back what some test results are. Thank you in advance for praying for her.

What are you Thankful for today?

11/3 - I'm very thankful for my husband! He has been the greatest husband of 20 yrs ever. He's an awesome dad to our children and I love him dearly.

Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it"
Even though this verses tells the husband to love his wife. We should love, honour, obey our husbands! I don't understand, when I hear a woman say, "I will love him but that is it!" What?? In verse 22 of this same passage we are told to submit to our husband. "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord." We submit to what God ask, or at least we should if your not. Then if you love the Lord and you do as he commands us to do. We also are to submit to our husband!

So what are you thankful for about your husband on Nov 3, 2011???? Just a little thought for the day.

Cleaning up the inside....

What brought this topic up was, the past 5 wks we have been cleaning up our house. Painting, fixing things that are broken and making it where we can be comfortable and live here unashamed. Yesterday as we were painting the master bedroom I thought I am taking much pride in this room! It really is looking sharp!

 This is the master bedroom before... paint on the floor plain walls (you can't tell but dirty needs to be cleaned).
 This is yesterday after we finished painting and putting things back in. It's bright and pretty very presentable.

Now as we look at these pictures. The first one isn't so pretty, but the other two are very nice. What is our heart like? Is it like the one picture where the floors all nasty and the walls dirty? Or is it clean where the Holy Spirit wouldn't feel cramped and as though he can't touch anything? Are we good house keepers of our bodies or bad house keepers?

Psalm 51:10 "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."
James 4:8 "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
II Chronicles 30:19 "That prepareth his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary"

Do you bring in good through what you watch, listen to, do, go to? Do you allow bad in your heart and mind through the TV, radio, movies or even friends. We should always be seeking for God to create in us a clean heart.

We have TV but we are very picky about what comes into our home through it. Our children who are now teens are very aware of what is on, and commercials are always muted, and I can say 90% of the time if music isn't right on a show they mute it. Now my children are not perfect, believe me if they were we wouldn't of gotten in trouble earlier in school :) Anyway, we as Christians NEED to Keep the home of the Holy Spirit clean, just as you would keep your home clean.

Just as we are going through and putting hours of work into our house that we live in. We should put just as much or more into our hearts to keep our lives clean, pure, and ready to serve!

Respecting your Elders

Have you noticed that in today's world there is less respect for people than say in the 70's or even 80's?
Think back to when you were a child. If you told your Dad "no" you got a good ole fashioned whipping. If you talked back to your Mom, be assured if she didn't spank you Dad would! One thing I didn't like to hear was, "Paula, you just wait till your dad gets home!" Oh man.... when I heard that I KNEW I had not been respectful. See when I was disobedient I got disciplined. You know what? It didn't ruin my life!!!

I can't get over how people say, you spank your child they will turn out to be a thief or murderer... What? That isn't true!!! The Bible clearly teaches, "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."

Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. What has happened to our families who don't make their children learn these verses.

If you don't work, you don't eat! Today our children think that things should be handed over to them without responsibility.

You may ask what does this have to do with Respect? ALOT!!! If we don't train our children now they won't have respect for you, they won't, want to work and earn their way. They will hurt you, and depend on the government to care for them. Is this what we want? I know I don't, I'm sure you as a parent don't want this either!!!

So as parents lets raise our children to be hard workers, to obey those in authority over them, and to Respect their elders. This was no elaborate devo but in watching how kids to day act I believe it was just a lesson to remind us about our children.

How's your walk with God?

As we near the end of 2011, can you look back on your walk with God and say, "I've grown?" Or do you look back say, "I've backslidden." Or are you satisfied with your where you are?

As I looked through a book I purchased for this up coming year keeping notes and things in from my devo's I wanted to share this with everyone.

The Basics of the Bible

II Timothy 3: 16-17

1. The preservation of the Bible
     A. The Bible is inspired by God (II Peter 1:21)
          1. The Word was dictated by God (Exodus 20)
          2. The Word came to the prophets (Jeremiah 1:2)
          3. God spoke His Word through dreams (Daniel 2:1)
    B. The Bible is called the Word of God.
         (Ps 119;9, Jeremiah 15:16, Revelation 1:2)
    C. The Bible is preserved as the Word of God.
         (I Peter 1:23-25, PS 119:89, Isaiah 40:8, Matt 5:18, Matt 24:35)

II. The Power of the Bible
     A. The Bible has the power to save sinners (I Peter 1:23)
     B. The Bible has the power to develop faith (Romans 10:17)
    C.  The Bible has the power to bring growth to Christians (I Peter 2:2-3)
    D.  The Bible has the power to change your attitude (PS 119:7)
    E.  The Bible has the power to keep you from your sin (PS 119:11)

III. The purpose of the Bible (Heb 4:12)
      *The Bible was written to be used.
      A. Hear it (Romans 10:17)
      B. Read it (Joshua 1:8)
      C. Study it (II Tim 2:15)
      D. Memorize it (PS 119:11)
     E. Meditate on it (I Tim 4:15)

This last point is why I have this devo blog, so we can "hear, read, study, memorize and meditate on God's Word!

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." James 1:22

Are you Bitter or Better?

At our ladies conference last month we had the privilege of hearing Mrs Buchanan speak. I'm going to share a little of what she taught. It was a BIG help for me and my prayer would be it would be a help for you.

First lets begin by reading I Peter 4:12 - 16; Genesis 50:20 and Romans 8:28

So how can we be better and not bitter? How can you be a Joyful woman?

1. Learn to forgive! Do you hold grudges against friends, teachers, parents, sisters, brothers, grandparents??? If you do you NEED to forgive.
2. Become a better person not a bitter person.
3. Require a higher standard for yourself. If the others say this is ok, set your standard above that so you aren't on the line.
4. Have joy through your trials! YES I said have trials through your trials.
5. The person who dies to self has no life of his own
II Corinthians 8:5
6. Become a better wife and mom by reading the instructions - The Bible! The ONLY book to correctly lead you in being the wife and mom you should be. The other books out their are ok, and I do recommend some of them, but first I will recommend that the Bible be your KEY instruction manual.

B - Basic
I - Instruction
B - Before
L - Leaving
E - Earth

Phil 4:8 and Ps 27:10

Read your Bible
Rest in the Lord
We have daily battles why not allow the Lord to fight them for you. Don't fight your own battles.

Friends, are you a bitter person? or a better person?
Do you hold grudges?
Do you turn people off because things don't or can't go your way?
God loves you and wants you to be a better person!!!

Are you clean or Dirty?

I Corinthians 3:9 - 10, 16 and Isaiah 3:8 - 9

The inner thoughts and desires will eventually come to the outside.
The best thing is getting your inner thoughts cleaned up!
What do I mean by this?
Do you have the right attitude? Are you an angry person? Do you hold bitterness in your heart? Do you have people you haven't forgiven? Are you discontent?
Read Prov 4:23 Have a guard around your heart!
Psalm 19:14 and Jeremiah 17:9

Heart Attitudes that we need to not have:
1. Anger - If you controlled your anger imagine what you do with your life.
How could you change your marriage, your home, your children?!
Anger can even destroy your health.

2. Bitter - Are you a bitter person. Do you hold bitterness against a family because they treated you wrongly? A sister? A grandma? An Uncle? you know who that person is.
If you are bitter you're also bitter with God! Hebrews 12:15

3. Unforgiving - You need to be able to forgive. Luke 6:38

4. Discontent - This isn't pleasing to God. Decided I'll be happy when  _______!
Phil. 2:13 God knows our life. Hebrews 13:5

5. Depression - Self Pity
Remember we are fearfully and wonderfully made we have no need for depression.
If you feel yourself slipping into this one, get out do something for another person!!!

3 Steps to prevent the above from happening.
1. Decided that you will guard your spirit and the spirit of those you're around.
2. Prepare, be ready - We need to "eat" Read our Bible! It will keep you healthy.
3. Ponder - Ponder on God's Word!

From the second you wake up, until the day you take your last breath you should be in fellowship with the Holy Spirit!! We are the temple of the Holy Ghost and we need to protect that fellowship with him.

I pray as you have read this that it will in some way touch your heart and that you will allow the Lord to show you what you as an individual needs to change in your life.

Are you Negative or Positive?

I was talking with my boys today about being negative and how it begins and how we can change that. Now before you close this page please read on. Negative people can destroy not only a person, but a couple, a family, a congregation YES negative people can destroy more than they realize.

Last night our preacher spoke on "Are you Revival Stopper?" Well one of his many many points was being a negative person. That hit at home, are we negative, have we been negative so much that we don't even realize we're being negative? A person can lie so much that they believe their own lies. So that could go with being negative also.

Nehemiah 6:3 "And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?"

When you have gossip or negative talk to spread and you call or go to a person who is working and serving the Lord you are actually preventing the work to cont. It takes the one you want to pull down, listening to you. If the person continues in what they are doing and you stand there a talk they are hearing and the negative you are spreading is hurting them. Satan can then use what you have said to pull them down, and then they if they don't stay in their Bible and prayer to do as you did to them.

I have several friends that I love dearly, but I have to be careful how much time I spend with them. Why? when they decide to complain, gossip, and be negative I can't be around it. Why? I have a husband and 5 children I need to protect and make sure they are not hearing that from me!

So, the thought for today, "Are you a negative or Positive person?" How do you influence those around youJ?

More to be desired....

What do you desire?
Psalm 19:10 "More to be desired are they than gold, yea than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb."

In school we started learning Psalm 19: 7-11 which has been put to song (you don't want to hear me sing *smile) but I was going over the verses with my boys and we were discussing a few things, when one of them, being a boy, made a rather un-desirable sound. One of his brothers was like, you know there are other things that are more desirable than what you did! I got to thinking about that.
What things do we say, do, par-take in, listen to, that is less desirable than what God would want us to say, do, listen to etc?

My son was being your regular 13 yr old boy making disgusting noises with his arm pits. To me an one of his siblings it wasn't desirable. When I spoke with him later about it, I asked him what about that is desirable to you? He simply said, "It's fun."
Friend, soul-winning, reading our Bible, praying, going to church, working in a ministry should be "fun" it should be desirable!

We are told in the Bible "to go out and preach the gospel to EVERY creature!" We are told to go into the highways, and byways to tell others of Christ. Is it always something we desire to do? Nope! I'll be honest when it comes to some things, it's NOT in my comfort zone so therefore it's NOT a desire! Teaching is a desire, I'm in my comfort zone, sitting a doing my blog is desirable, I'm in my comfort zone.
Going out knocking on a total strangers door to ask him if he were to die to day, yes it's desirable BUT it's NOT in my comfort zone. So what do I do?

I take PS 19:10 More to be desired (those going to heaven whom I witness too and accept the free gift; that's desirable)
are they than gold (salvation is better than spending money on earthly possessions when someone could live in Heaven for eternity)
yea than much fine gold (all the gold in the world won't be desirable after the rapture)
sweeter also than honey (the desire of God are sweeter than honey!)
and the honeycomb. (I love a good honeycomb, but that won't matter if I'm not desirable for me Lord)

This is pretty simple, basic thought, but are you desirable?
Is what you say, do, the way you dress is that desirable to the Lord?
Let's be "MORE TO BE DESIRED!"

My God is so Big....

My God is so Big, so Strong and so Mighty there's Nothing (I mean Nothing) my God can not do.
My God is so Big, so Strong and so Mighty there's NOTHING my God can not do.
The Mountains are His (When you're on the Top of a Mountain hes right there!)
The Valley's are His ( are in a valley, hard times, family issues, financial issues? Guess what He is right there!)
The stars are His handiwork too. (as a child an maybe an adult you have wished on a star. God is there to hear that wish!)
My God is so Big, so Strong and so Mighty there's NOTHING (Nothing at all) My God can not do! FOR YOU!!!!

PS 23
1 The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and they staff they comfort me. (God is with you in the Valley)
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Now if God isn't Big, Strong and Mighty; How could he do all that?!

Growing on the Go....

I'm important to God! Matthew 19:14 "Let the little children come to me"
Jesus wants each of us to know we are important to Him.

We are so important to God that he died on the cross for us, forgave us our sins, rose again and is now waiting at the right hand of God to come back and take us home! WOW!!!
Have you gone through somethings in your life? Don't keep dwelling on it. Why? You are important to God and you give it all to Him.
Do you wonder at times if you are loved? Guess what? No matter what God loves!! Why? You are important to God!

This past wkend I was at our Ladies conference and one of the speakers talked about forgiving. If we forgive and submit to God he can do so much more with our lives. Don't hold on to the "baggage" in your life. Give it to God and let him do a work in you. Why? Because you ARE IMPORTANT TO GOD!!!!

Growing on the Go....

I know in today's world we are always run here and run there. Do we take time to make sure our children are growing Spiritually when we get busy? Over the next several weeks I'm going to post some on the Go things that anyone can do to help their children through the days, weeks, and months of going all the time.

Growing in My Awareness of God. Now
~ Teach your child about God's love. John 3:16
~ Help your child to understand the TRUE way of Creation Genesis 1 & 2
~ Teach them how people are different
~ Teach your child about God's plan, and that he has a plan for each of us.

These are a few of many things we can teach our children.
On teaching our children about Gods love you can read
Psalm 107:1
Psalm 73:1
Luke 1:37
I John 4:10

Remember always to pray with your children it doesn't matter how young or how old they are, we should pray with them.

Do You know where you'll Spend Eternity?

Today in church our Preacher, preached a sermon on "Say So". What are we to say so about? We are to say we are Christian, we are to tell other about Christ. I know it's been awhile since I posted the plan of salvation on my blogs. I try to keep everything uplifting and positive.

This is so very crucial that you know where you'll spend eternity.
Let me share with you how you can know that you'll spend eternity in Heaven not Hell.
I John 5:13
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

First we need to realize we're all sinners. Romans 5:12
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned;" (One man - the first man, Adam)

Revelation 20:14
" And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."
My friend if your not saved you'll die here on earth, but then there's a death that is far worse which is the 2nd death. We're referring to Hell in this verse.

However God has paid that price for us already if we only accept him as Saviour.
Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death; BUT the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

How can we avoid the 2nd death, Hell?
Romans 5:8
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 10:13
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Romans 10:9-11
:That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, "Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."

If you only ask and believe in Faith that the Lord died for your sins and that he is ready right this very minute to take you as his own and has and will forgive you of your sins!!
Hebrews 11:6
"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

If you want to have this free gift say (read) this prayer:
Dear Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner, if I died now in my sin, I would go to Hell Right now, by faith, I am trusting You as my personal Saviour and my only hope for Heaven. Thank you for dying on the cross for me and for saving me from an eternity in Hell. In Jesus name, Amen!

"Shall We Gather at the River"

Think of gathering at the River in Heaven after the rapture! Wow!!! Wonderful thoughts of heaven and being in a perfect place!

Revelation 22:1-7
Vr 1 "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb."

Shall we gather at the river
Where bright angel feet have trod,
With it's crystal tide forever
Flowing by the throne of God?

Soon we'll reach the shining river;
Soon our pilgrimage will cease;
Soon our happy hearts will quiver
With the melody of peace.

Yes, we'll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river,
Gather wit the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.

We can't even begin to imagine what heaven will be like, but isn't it wonderful to think of all the glories and beauties that are there. The loved ones we have missed here on here on earth will be there and we'll all be gathered there with our Saviour!!!

"It Is Well With My Soul"

Isaiah 48:10-22
Vr 18 "O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea."

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrow like sea billows roll,
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

It is well with my soul;
It is well, it is well with my soul.

And, Lord, hast the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll.
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend;
"Even so" -it is well with my soul.

God gives us His peace when we meet His requirements. Many times He sends unusual circumstances into our lives to make us more like His Son. If all things are accepted as from Him, then His peace is the result.

"My Faith Looks Up to Thee"

Hebrews 11:1-6
Vr 1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not see."

My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Saviour divine!
Now hear me while I pray;
Take all my guilt away;
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine!

Pray believing and have Faith that God will answer your prayers. I love watching my children as their prayers are answered! Just recently my daughter, age 19, was praying about a situation. The Lord gave her a job that was wonderful for college, then he took it away. Tabitha was not understanding why this happened. The day she lost the one job, along with 70 some other people, she gets a call from her former job in KY. The Lord took care of her even though it meant she was going back to the college she had attended last yr. He provided her a full time job that will care for her bill and other needs while away from home!! Have Faith in God that he will take care of you!!

May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire;
As thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be,
A living fire!

When ends life's transient dream,
When death's cold, sullen stream
Shall o'er me roll,
Blest Saviour, then, in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
Oh, bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul!

You can experience things in life that yes, you may not ever become famous from but allow the Lord to use those experiences in your life to change you! Let your Faith look to God! Don't do in doubt what you would of done in Faith!

Reflection of this song: Ray Palmer's faith was not in himself or some "higher power," but in Christ. Our faith also must be in Him. The Bible says that Christ "was in all points tempted like as we are, yet [He was] without sin" Hebrews 4:15. In every situation that we find ourselves in, remember, Christ has been there too.

"All Hail the Power of Jesus Name"

Philippians 2:1-11
Vr 9 - "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name."

All hail the pow'r of Jesus' name!
Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem
And crown him Lord of all.

Let ev'ry kindred, ev'ry tribe,
On this terrestrial ball,
To Him all majesty ascribe
And crown Him Lord of all.

I Love this song! In a book I was reading here is what the author said about this song.
" Christ left His majestic position and condescended to provide salvation for lowly human beings. May He enjoy an exalted position in our hearts today. He and only He is worthy to be Lord of all."

WOW!! what a thought!!! Do we give the Lord the exalted position in our hearts? Something to think about and put into action.

Do you worship, praise and give the Lord power in your life and heart?

Good Morning!

Well, we are moved, not settled in by a long shot but I should be able to post a little more. I will be homeschooling so I don't know how much exactly I will get on but I'll get more than I was.

Rejoice in the Lord alway and again I say rejoice.

Living by Faith....

Oh my I have lived by faith in the past but I tell you what, the last wk has been a real test of my faith. For those who may not of known, our life has literally been turned upside down. We started 2 mo. ago planning on a possible move to Maine, packing, letting people know that we may be leaving and so on and so forth.
About a wk after we start this plan, we are told we have to move out of our home because they want to sell and that we have 30 days. OH boy! So we are thinking ok the Lord is leading and things are happening in such a way, it must be God's will.
Then a wk ago yesterday (Friday) we learn we are NOT going to Maine! Now we have no home, thankfully Bill still had his job, but we had ONLY 2 wks to find a place a live. Well we now have 5 days and NOTHING!!
This ole gal's faith is wavering, even though I know through faith God will take care of us.
I just keep trusting my Lord as I go along....
He will never leave me nor forsake me..... this includes he won't leave me homeless.
My faith looks up to Thee,

Are you living by faith? Do you allow God to do with you what is best?
You know, the last 2 months I have cried alot, I have prayed alot and YES I have doubted. You say, You doubted? Why?
I'm human just like you. I doubted that we were really seeing what God wanted us to see. Now though I see it as God wanted to see if we were willing to the comfort we are in. If we were willing to go to another church, and serve as we do here. Once we ALL, myself included said, "Ok Lord wherever you want us we'll serve." Everything changes and we are staying right here where we are a BIG part of our church. I don't understand why things happen the way they do, but I do know by putting my faith in God and letting go of my life, He knows what we need.

As I close I have a prayer request, we literally have 5 days to find a place to live and thus far nothing has opened up. We do have 1 home that is a possibility. Please if you would join us in prayer that we can find a home within our budget and that it's what God wants us to have.

A blessing to share with you....

Our church had a soul winning marathon for the teens, there was a total of 50 teens and 261 people saved!! The other HUGE blessing is that Samuel my 13 yr old lead his first 3 people to the Lord. Then my 16 yr old, Caleb lead 16 people to the Lord and Paul IV lead 6 people to the Lord. They sent 25 teens to Hagerstown which about 20 min from our church and the other 25 went to Winchester which is about 30 min from the church.

Our Youth Group is serving God and seeing people accept Christ! I'm so pleased and blessed to have a church that trains the young people to care the eternity of others.

Helping Our Teens - What exactly is a teen?

As a parent we here from our teens, "My parents just don't understand me!" Parents, maybe we don't, how do you treat your "young adult" You know when they are 13 they are just leaving childhood, when they are 14 they are maturing a little more, at 15 they really want their independence. At 16 they are very close to being an Adult, at 17 many are going to college and need mom and dad to understand their dreams, at 18 and 19 they are Young Adults!

I personally am at the stages of 13, 16, 17 and 18. Do you know how hard it is to work with all these stages at once? I will admit It does get a little easier as each child reaches the stage another has gone through. Although my only girl is the oldest so I learned one thing with her, and then my 17 was different in that the rest of the kids are boys. I do have to adjust things according to each child. NO two children are the same, I'm constantly amazed at this when all 5 of our kids have the same mom and dad but yet they are SO SO different!!!

Here are some suggestions Dr Jack Hyles gives in his book "How to Rear Teenagers" on how to understand and deal wit these precious people we call teenagers.

1. Remember that a teenager is nearer adulthood than childhood.
They are maturing not only in their actions but their bodies. The young person is becoming an adult.

2. He should be treated more like an adult than a child.
A wise parent will do all they can to resist the temptation to treat him/her as child but rather as a young adult. You say I have a teen who's troubled. If you deal with a troubled teen, your teen WILL say, "I'm treated like a child!' Our children have been our child since birth, we have done all the different things needed as an infant, then toddler, then child, now you have to realize your Child is NOT a child anymore, He or She is teen which is a Young Adult!

3. Exhibit patience with him.
Remember they are learning the ways of being an adult, they have limited experience. A wise dad and mom will do everything possible to exercise the most difficult part of being a parent manners - that of being patient with the teenager.

4. Remember his potential.
What can your teen do? Challenge him to reach his potential! Does he have music skills? Art? Athletic? Whatever it is challenge him to reach his FULL potential in that area!!!

5. Give him proof.
You may say what? Proof for what? Well, Teens want to know why? I was told this one time and I found it to be so true. Think about your son/daughter was 3, what was a favorite question they asked? It was Why? Now look at your teen, what seems to be their favorite question? Why!! So we need to NOT blow off our teen when they say, "Why can't I........ or Why is it that......." Whatever the question you answered

Remember You Are Somebody!!!

I'm copying this directly from the booklet I've used some throughout this series of lessons.

Go go Psalm 139 often, and read that wonderful passage again and again, realizing how much God loves you. You are somebody! God sent His son to die for YOU. You are priceless. You are forgiven of every wrong thing that you've ever done. You don't have to compare yourself to anyone else because you are special in your own right. You can fill a place nobody else can fill.

You need to get up tomorrow and dress one who is going to rule someday - not a dunce, not a nobody, not a person without talents, not a person with no worth, but someone who will rule someday. Self-worth is a necessity of life.

Begin today loving yourself. You will still feel unworthy at times, but you need never feel worthless.

If you fail to plan you plan to fail. Don't plan to fail in this matter of accepting whom you are in God's eyes. Doing so will help you reach out to others because you have accepted who you are in God's eyes. YOU are somebody!

Jeremiah 31;3 b "Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friends, wives, moms, children, husbands anyone who reads this please realize YOU are somebody and you were made by God.
I pray that this short series is help to someone somewhere.
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made....
Attaining the Poised Beauty of Self-Acceptance
How do you attain poised self-acceptance?
1. Accept God's evaluation of you!
Think about it we need accept who we are because of whose we are!  John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
God gave his son for who? YOU! So we should accept ourselves!!
Luke 12:27, 28 "Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith."
Can you imagine God loves us so much that he would cast things into the oven, to care for us!! WOW
"YOU ARE a beautiful, precious pattern God intimately created.'
2. Accept God's forgiveness.
God has forgiven us already, accept that and don't feel that he's still holding the sin or guilt over your head. "He accepts me just as I am. He love me unconditionally, and  He thinks precious thoughts about me."
John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
God has forgiven us not YOU need to forget it!
Jeremiah 31:3b "Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee."
3. Quit comparing yourself to other people!
"No one can take your place and do what you were meant to do."
II Corinthians 10:12 "For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise."
God wants you to be your BEST not compare yourself to other people.
I can't be you and you can't be me!
4. Learn to walk as one who will rule someday!
YOU ARE SOMEBODY!! You can do things!!!
5. Take care of the outward self as a person who is somebody.
I Corinthians 6:19-20 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's"
a. Purpose in your heart to do it.
Daniel 1:8 "But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat nor  with the wine which he drank."
If you fail to plan then you plan on failing!
b. Have a no-no list of foods.
If there are things you know you should not eat, make a list and follow it!
c. Don't ever eat standing up.
Just because food is left on the plate doesn't mean you have to eat it. So make it a choice NOT to eat while standing!
Remember friend YOU ARE SOMEBODY!!!!
Read Ps 139 and have your mirror there. Tell yourself GOD MADE ME AND I AM SOMEBODY!!!
Tuesday, May 24, 2011
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made....
Loving your neighbour! That's not always easy, and the thing is your neighbour isn't just the person who lives next door. It can be anyone! Those of you who read this, are my neighbours even though I may not personally know you. I'm to love you!
So why are we to love our neighbours? Did you grow up thinking I'm not suppose to like myself? or I'm suppose to put myself down? You NEED to change that! You are suppose to like yourself and be think positive about yourself!!!
God does not want any of His creatures to continually make statements like:
~ Uh, I can't do anything.
~ I don't have any Talents.
NO that is not what God wants from us!!!!
What if God gave you:
~ Good looks
~ Maybe a talent
~ Maybe your really smart
God gave you these things don't criticize these things so you don't have and whatever it is.
We are to love our neighbour! The reason we want to have a healthy self-esteem is so we can forget ourselves and then reach out to the many who need us!!
Do you have your mirror? Look in it and say, "GOD MADE ME!!" GOD MADE ME WHAT I AM!!!
Forget self, and look to the needs of others!
People who need your help - the sick, elderly, a friend, your spouse!
Show someone kindness! Do something for that neighbour who never smiles, the child who comes to your place to play.
Say loving words to others!
We are of great value because God made us. We are His marvelous works - fearfully and wonderfully made! Because  God made us so valuable, we need to have self-acceptance.
So dear wife, mom, daughter who ever you are. Read again PS 139 and look for 15 sec in the mirror and say GOD MADE ME AND I ACCEPT ME FOR ME!!!
Monday, May 23, 2011
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made....
Good Evening, I'm having a fairly good day. This would of been out sooner but I've had a major headache most of the day and I also was trying to get ready for my daughter. She came home from college today and it's been WONDERFUL having her here and it's only been since 6:30 this evening!!!
I'm loving it cause some of her friends have already stopped by to see her.
So on to our lesson today, remember to get your mirror and your Bible, and Read Psalm 139. After you are done with that then we'll cont on.
Decide to Accept Yourself, you say, But Paula you don't understand! Maybe I don't, but I do understand that you have to Accept yourself for who you are. God made us as we are, Read Psalm 139: 14 "....for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:...." God made you special!!
If you say but I don't like.....Keep in mind somethings cannot change!!!
Maybe you don't like your nose, yea you can have cosmetic surgery but will you truly be happy with it?! Why not accept the way God made you! He made you tall, short, big feet, or however, it's because he see's you as YOU!! GOD MADE YOU!!!!
Take these things and say, "All right, Lord, I accept them. THis is how You chose to make me. I now recognize that YOU made me with certain strengths and weaknesses. Every other person You ever created has them, too. I now accept the ones I cannot change. I call this decision self-acceptance!!!
One you do this you WILL be able to look in that mirror you have beside you and say, THANK YOU Lord for makeing me the way you did!
Now what are 2 Great Commandments that Jesus gave us in the Bible?
The one we want to look at is, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Lev 19:18
Look at this commandment: Since God commanded that we love our neighbour as ourself, we realy don't have choice but to obey it.
As a wife you don't have a choice to obey your husband.
As people we don't have a choice to love our neighbours.
Then we notice, "as thyself" so this is a 2 fold commandment.
First - a person to like, accept and love yourself as God made YOU>
Second - You are to love your neighbour in the same way!
So over the next 24 hrs see what you do, or change in your thoughts on how to Accept yourself. I have a dear friend who has some self-esteem problems and I will never say or indicate who he/she is. But I believe that this person through the way they dress, present themselves, change maybe attitudes, could get to where they accpet who they are. God has a purpose for you and for me.
However if you are constantly cutting yourself down, think negative about yourself, convincing yourself you are not worth it. When you start feeling or thinking this way Read Ps 139 I don't care if you have to read it 10 times a day. As Christians YOU/I NEED to Accept YOURSELF!!!
Ladies, or men. It's so important that we accept who God made us as. Do you believe God makes no mistakes? Then why would you say, you can't accept who you are?! You are saying to God, You made a mistake when you made me. How untrue is that?! God Made You! Look in your mirror and way it God Made Me! God Made Me! God Made Me! You will eventally believe it if you don't already! YOU ARE SOMEBODY!!!!
Saturday, May 21, 2011
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made....
Before we start get your Mirror and Bible and get ready for another lesson on how YOU are Somebody!!
As we go into this decide now that you will read it with an open mind especially wives! If you are engaged and reading this, you too need to read it with an open mind.
I love the wedding vows and I love what they mean. When you, lady, said to cherish, honor and obey till death do us part. Did you mean it? Or was it just a bunch of words? I've watched TV shows and even heard people say I will NOT say Obey, or till death do us part. Why bother getting married if you aren't going to keep the Wedding vows? Marriage is a blessed thing and part of that is be submissive as a wife to your husband. I understand that if for some reason divorce comes into the picture, you may not have any say over it. Lady, please make sure that you have done your part that you did your best to honor, obey, love, submit to your husband. Let's make the stats of divorce lower and Men and Women who stayed married high!
Submission isn't always easy to do, but since we're told to as wives, we have to Obey the Bible. In today's world the woman who submits to her husband is looked at as a crazy person. However you and your husband are fearfully and wonderfully made, marriage is/was made in heaven, and God wants us to honor and obey his word!
So now Read Psalms 139, and look in the mirror for 15 seconds and ask yourself how God and your husband see you as a Special Lady. Today lets write down the positive things and make sure to keep the paper close by, you'll need it again.
Seek to Please
As I have said earlier women have a more difficult time with self-esteem for the simple reason we are to be submissive. Did you know submission is role that God designed? Submission simply means Seek to Please.
Because so many women have a lack of self-esteem, it causes many problems in our lives. Look at your marriage, has your lack of self-esteem hurt the marriage. Do you think this about yourself?
~ I can't do such and such, like she does.
~ I wasn't born with such and such talent like that person.
~ I don't have any character. (THAT can be changed if you only try)
~ I'm not the prettiest person in the world. (Guess what you don't have to be the prettiest person in order to have self-esteem) Why? God See's us all as beautiful and "....for I (you) am fearfully and wonderfully made....'
Change comes when you decide you can and will change. For instance, if you're overweight, work on that area. Suppose you don't have the character to be on time. Begin to work on arriving early; that character flaw can be changed. Maybe you don't keep a clean house, start today in one room and decide that you ARE going to be a good house wife.
Before closing out today, Please take your mirror look in it and say, "God made me!" "I'm a beautiful person" and "I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Now go have a great day and enjoy who you are!
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made....
I'm going to start today's lesson with a story from the booklet Mrs Hyles wrote on "I Am Somebody"
Don't Dress a Dunce!
     Upon entering school, a young boy was told by his teacher, "You're just a dunce! You're really beyond learning. You have no brains. I suggest you go home and don't come to school anymore. Don't ever try to learn."
     That boy believed his teacher. (Just as we have believed some of what people have said about us.) He went home, never again tried to go to school or tried to learn. After 17 yrs, this boy was administered an I.Q. test. The results? He was a genius!
     How sad to me that for 17 yrs this boy had gotten up every morning to dress a dunce. However, from the day of his I.Q. test forward, he got up and dressed a genius.
What can we learn from this story??? Let go back a minute....
Based on what we believe on, we should believe in God's Word! We can ALWAYS accept it as truth. However people are human, they make mistakes, do you have to believe everything that a person tells you? NO!!
Self-Esteem
Self - A person regarded as an individual apart from everyone else
Esteem - To think well of; to regard highly; to value
Read Psalm 139 now
Now that you have read Ps 139 and you've read the story we stared with, take your mirror and look at your self!
1. YOU are a person, apart from everyone else
2. How is your esteem? Do you see yourself as regarded highly? As a value? One that is thought well of?
If you can't answer yes to these questions then you need to Re-read PS 139 and look in your mirror saying, I AM SOMEBODY!!! I am made for purpose! God made me special not like anyone else!
Then go back an ask yourself those questions again. If you still say NO to them repeat this section till you can say YES my self-esteem is good about myself.
You know I see people and know people that have low self-esteem and if they are saved have no reason to feel like they are of no value, or that they aren't regarded highly or even that they aren't thought well of. You know people say hurtful things and many times it's all because they are hurting!
Again Read PS 139 and look at yourself in the mirror for 15 sec and then list the good about yourself!
Self-esteem is a deep sense of worth to God, and an honest evaluation of your gifts or talents, and potential to perform your unique ministry ~~~M.E. Gravens
"If I could write a prescription for the women of the world, it would be to provide each of them with a healthy dose of self-esteem. Take 3 times a day. I have no doubt this is their greatest need."
The lack of self-esteem is a detriment to American women today!!! The person who wrote the "prescription" recognizes the GREAT need for women to get their self-esteem back.
Mom, wife, teacher, student, child anyone.....Don't let your self-esteem destroy you! Let it build you instead!
Think about it when a baby is born does he/she lay in his crib saying:
"I'm ugly"
"I have no talent"
"I can't do anything"
NOPE!!! I know that sounds silly because they are babies, but you know what we don't have to say those things when we get older either! I have an Uncle that was told, You are lazy, you are good for nothing and you will NEVER amount to anything. You know what? He's done exactly as he was told. Why? he heard it all the time.
Mom, Dad be careful what you say to that child. If you say something enough he or she will begin to think that of themselves. Which comes back on you, you are destroying that child's self-esteem.  If you are a care taker, babysitter, teacher don't do as the teacher in our story did. You maybe destroying a genius!!!
So I'm going to ask you to one more time look in your mirror and say, I AM SOMEBODY, I can do what I'm meant to do! Why can I do this, because, "...I am fearfully and wonderfully made...."
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made....
Good afternoon! I hope you are having a great day! I know we have :) House is cleaned, school is done for the yr, school room/living room cleaned out doesn't look like we ever home schooled in here :) Love the change for the 3 short months. I certainly hope as you prepare for your summer that you too can see changes in your home, your life, the way you look at yourself. So are we ready to go into the next lesson? I pray you read yesterdays and let me remind you, you will again need your mirror and Bible for today's lesson.
Before we start take the time to Read Psalm 139.
Question for you... Are you locked in a Cocoon?
Do you feel like the caterpillar who is looking for his food?
Maybe, you feel like the unattractive caterpillar who's in the cocoon who's waiting to be a butterfly or moth. Remember, no one can make you what you need to be or ought to be, there's not another human who can do that for you. Only you can break out of the cocoon and spread your beautiful wings.
Does your church have Ladies meetings? Maybe you should attend them and reap what you can from the teachings. The Lord has blessed ladies with the ability to teach and help others. Now this won't change you unless you allow the Holy Spirit to work through you. Remember YOU ARE Fearfully and wonderfully made. You can read books, listen to tapes/CD's now :) They will inspire you, however YOU have to realize that you are FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made and that YOU have to decide to make the change.
May I remind you: YOU ARE SOMEBODY!!!!!! God made you dear lady to be the wife you are, to be the mom you are or maybe in the future, to be the teacher you are, to be the friend you are, YOU ARE SOMEBODY!!!!!
Dear lady, Guess what???? God, himself, no one else Made You! He chose to Make YOU! He made YOU, with say a crocked nose, or freckles, or maybe you think your hair is the wrong color HE made YOU! GOD MADE WHO????  YOU!!!! YOU ARE SOMEBODY!!!! You were fearfully and wonderfully made!!!!
Say the following as you look in your mirror: GOD MADE ME!!! GOD MADE ME THE WAY I AM!!!! Now you just need to accept who you are.
Some of you maybe have decided that you're no body that you aren't needed. You are WRONG!! You are needed why? YOU ARE SOMEBODY!!!
Some of you say what can do for the church, I go as I'm suppose to, I tithe, that's enough. NOPE!!! You ARE SOMEBODY and you CAN contribute ALOT to the church, the world, Your family. Remember YOU ARE SOMEBODY!!! Why? because God made you and you are fearfully and wonderfully made!!!
As you end today Read Psalm 139: 1-17 and see what God has done and thinks of you.
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made....
Good morning! I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but it's rainy and sunny at the same time here in WV. We're under flood watches in area, our drive floods very easily so it's a constant watch to make sure the garage doesn't flood :) Never a dull moment AMEN!! You know what I like about blogs, us ladies can say Amen and not be out of line :D LOL  love it :)
Well, I'm excited about this new lesson I was packing up somethings an came across a booklet written by Mrs Beverly Hyles, I was surprised I'd never read it. So I sat down and read it, and as I go through life from day to day I see wives, moms, teachers, friends, women in general who really are depressed, and act as though they really don't know who they are or why they even exist. It's so sad when we are "...fearfully and wonderfully made...." Think about it God made each of us as a unique individual, if your an identical twin the two of you are unique in your own way. Back about 4 yrs ago I was really going through some things and my Pastor, a very wise and godly man suggested I read Psalm 139 every day finding something different each day to learn from. I did this for almost 3 mo and WOW!! Now I read Psalm 139 once a wk. You may ask why do you cont to read it like this? Well, you will see as we go through these lessons and prayerfully if you are having/going through something it will help you also. I promise you, it was amazing how it helped me and changed me. Some of what I'm going to share with you is from my own life and some will be from the booklet that was written by Mrs Beverly Hyles, a very godly lady and a lady whom I greatly admire, my former Pastors wife.
You say, Paula, really I'm no one special. Wait, you are special! I believe you, even though I may of NEVER met you, are special in God's eyes and he made you so that's reason enough to decided today that YOU ARE SPECIAL.
You say, but I'm not pretty.
I'm not smart.
No body ask me to help with _________________ and whatever it is.
I never get ask to be part of plays or weddings or whatever.
You know what? I use to think if I wasn't asked to be in things or help with things that it was because I was plain, not popular, I was (for some you, you'll say what? You?) shy so nobody thought I could do whatever the job or request was. That was wrong, you don't have to popular, or out spoken or pretty to do the things God has for you.
So as you read these lessons you will need with; your Bible and a mirror.
The mirror is so you can look at your outer beauty as your read this.
The Bible is because EVERY Christian lady needs to examine her heart!
Read Psalm 139: 1 - 17
Every lady should read this and memorize it. (I'm working on the memorization part now)
In these 17 verse's you'll see how much you really mean to God.
Over the 3 months that I was reading this passage every day, God did a work through me that I honestly believe was due to the fact I realized that even though my husband and family had been hurt emotionally and spiritually God let me see that He LOVES ME and cares for me and thinks I'm a wonderful person. I won't go into detail, but we moved to WV from another state and we basically had been told we would never make it, and that we were not good enough to do what we were going to do. The Devil was winning and we were low. BUT, a man of God saw good in the Seavey family and saw a family who needed to "rebuild". As I met with my Pastor he lead me to this passage of scripture and he lead my husband to a passage our teen children in a direction. Our family is now a thriving, growing family who loves the Lord. Now we never stopped loving God and we knew he was in control. However now we are stronger and we all know that we are "...fearfully and wonderfully made...."
As you look at your life and what God can and will do with your remember:
He's everywhere; omnipresence is an attribute of our wonderful God.
He's behind us; He's beside us.
He knows our thoughts - every little things about us.
Ps 139:14, God says that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made." Each of us! No one is not in this realm. God didn't say ok, you, you, and you can't be included this verse. NO he included you and me!!!
Now did you get your mirror? If not go and get it now. You need to pick it up look at yourself for 15 seconds (time it). As you look at yourself think about what you notice as you read verse 14: "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."
WHO is a marvelous work of God?
WHO is fearfully and wonderfully made?
Congratulations! IT"S YOU!!!! The person you stared at for 15 seconds in the mirror was YOU, YOU are fearfully and wonderfully made! YOU are somebody!!!
The things that God did through me in this passage he can do for you! Start today reading Psalm 139 every day, maybe you need to read more than once day. Please read it and help yourself realize you are special!!
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made....
In the next day or so, I'm going to start a short series of lessons on Psalm 139, verse 14 will be our key verse "I will praise thee: for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works: and that my soul knoweth right well."
As an wife, mom, friend, Interpreter for the Deaf I see people who honestly wonder who they are and why they are here. I pray that as I prepare to post these lesson that someone out there who feels their life isn't worth living or that simply doesn't seem to figure out "who they are" that these lessons will help.
Even before I start posting the lesson's I'm praying for ALL who made read these.
Silk and Purple - Provision
God's provision in a world that believes we're falling apart, no way to make it, no possible to come out of this financial mess. Well, if you are reading this guess what? There's hope through Jesus Christ!
Philippians 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.'
This is one of my favorite verses!! Notice its says "need" not needs, why is this? From sermons I've heard and from what I believe is the reason is because, yes, we have many needs; however, God sees it as a NEED! God will supply ALL your NEED he doesn't need to show that it's plural because he will simply care for it ALL! I love that fact that I look to God, yes, I'm to do my part in helping care but our wonderful Lord sees, Knows, and cares for us.
Read II Kings 4:1 - 7
II Kings 4:2a "What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house?...." The story here is about a widow, she did all she could then went to the man of God for more help. She saw the NEED to get help. She knew to depend on God and God's people to help care for NEED.
1. God provides for the Preachers family.
2. God provides for the Preachers wife.
3. God provides for the woman who's husband fears the Lord.
4. God provides and sends his blessings and provisions, all he ask is that we follow Him.
5. God provides for the godly wife and mom!
A challenge for you is to get a piece of paper and just start listing the things God has provided for you.
Then don't just stop there, but thank him for all his provisions.
God is a God of provisions! He wants to provide your every NEED! Let Him.
Silk and Purple - Purity
As warmer weather started coming I was noticing as I do ever yr how young people, as well as adults started wearing less and less. There's 2 things that aren't real pleasant about summer for me, one is the extreme heat (i"m not a hot weather person) the other which is the biggest of all the lack of clothing. Parents today wonder why their girls are stalked, or get physically hurt or even raped. Yes, I said it! We NEED to be put on the clothes and stay pure! There's also many ways to stay pure not just sexually but also through our thoughts, what we say, do etc.
Proverbs 2:19 "None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life."
Read Genesis 39: 7 - 24
This lesson deals more with Potiphars wife and Joseph but I'm going to go a few other directions with purity. What does Purity mean?
Definition of PURITY
1: the quality or state of being pure
Examples of PURITY
purity while surrounded by wickedness>
Even in the dictionary it says a struggle....if we as wives and mom would simply dress right teach our girls AND boys to dress right we wouldn't have these problems, or at least we would have a lot less problems with young people staying pure.
Purity begins with yourself, at home, with your children. How do your children see you from day to day? Do they see you flirting with other men? Do you dress to please other men or do you dress to help them their minds pure? Pretty strong questions!!
Now I will say I dont' think we as ladies, and girls need to wear clothes that go all the way to the floor and clean to our chin, to our wrist and show NO skin whatsoever. Yea, maybe that is a sure fire way of keeping men from lusting after you and not keeping their thoughts pure. Seriously though are you wearing glorified pants with what you wear or are you wearing what God says a woman is to wear. I'll not go down this "rabbit trail" that is on a different lesson. How we dress does affect a man though and it does affect his thoughts, he can be lustful and not pure in our thoughts.
Now in this lesson it was the woman who was being lustful! Joseph however did as he should and he fled from the wickedness and evil. Genesis 39:7 "cast her eyes upon Joseph" She was trying to get Joseph to go to bed. Praise the Lord he took a stand and he fled and didn't look back. You and I can do the same.
How can we stay pure:
1. Must learn to stay grateful and content. You ask how can one stay pure by doing this? I'm glad you asked :) Are you grateful and content with your husband? Or do you constantly wish you were with this man or that man instead?
2. You must stay busy! Yep busy!!! We must stay busy and not be idle. Don't let the things of this world cause you to lose your purity.
3. You must learn that luxury and position cannot make up for neglect in our marriages.
See if you are a "cold fish" in bed, guess what? Hubby is going else where!!! Now Lord willing hubby is a strong man and will seek council but you know what Most men, REAL men struggle with purity if their marriage is bad.
4. You must learn accountability.
Are you naive about your marriage and what it needs? Do you need help for marriage, WIFE do you make sure your accountable for things you do?
5. You must be careful what you see on TV, billboards, magazine racks....OH my word!!! TV today is AWFUL it has come to the pt I almost don't even want my boys watching it, EVEN Disney!!! YES I said Disney they have so much rock and roll, teens making out, teen girls parading around in their 2 piece bathing suits. Do your BOYS NEED to see that???? Do you need to see men running around in their underwear? NO NO NO NO Be careful what you bring in to your home what you see. I know in today's world keeping pure thoughts is almost impossible. This is why I do one of two things when I'm out.
1. I listen to sermons while driving
2. I listen to GOOD Godly music! Not this so called contemporary or christian rock. For one things ROCK and Christian DON"T go together. IF you don't like what I'm saying about this. Don't read my blog. I won't apologize for standing for what is right.
6. You must recognize temptation right away.
"Avoid all appearances of evil."
7. You must not be forward in your behaviour.
Did you know the way you talk to the opposite sex or the way you act can say ALOT!!! Be careful.
8. You must realize that the desire to be unfaithful stems from lust and not love.
Potifars wife didn't love Joseph she was lusting. Why? Maybe her marriage wasn't what it should of been. Maybe she watched one two many "romance" movies, or read one two many romance books. Those books and the Majority of those romance movies are G-A-R-B-A-G-E!!
9. You must realize that dishonesty and stubbornness lead to impurity.
Maybe you how is that? Well, think about it you go out on a Girls night, which is fine right? Basically yes, however you don't tell your husband that you went to the bar or the strip club. All you say, is we went to dinner and the mall. DISHONESTY!! it can lead to impurity!
Stubbornness- does your husband ask you to do this or that, an rather than submitting you let that stubborn streak come out. Maybe say, "You aren't telling me what to do!" "I'll do that when I 'm good and ready!" STUBBORNNESS it can lead to impurity.
10. You must realize you hurt your Saviour when you do immoral things.
Are you saved?
Do you read your Bible?
Do you pray?
Do you LOVE the Lord?
Why then would you grieve the Holy Spirit who lives in you by doing immoral things?
11. You must realize how much you hurt others with your immorality.
Who do you hurt? God, Your husband, your children, your parents, your pastor, ALL those who have invested in YOUR life!!!
Stop
Think
Don't do it!! Don't ruin your life with immorality, by not staying pure!
This lesson literally took me 3 days to post. You may ask why, but in a few area's here we have had to deal with something in our family. I won't say who or what because I would NEVER hurt the one who has had some problems. I will however say,  Much prayer went into this, and as I mentioned I WILL NOT apologize for what I have said. This is what I believe and God wants us to be pure he wants us to keep our minds clean, he wants us to be the right kind of Moms, wives, ladies, girls!!!
Philippians 4:8
"Finally, brethern, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever thing are lovely, whatsoever things are good report: if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
Silk and Purple - Faith
Good Morning! I pray you have had a good a week. I've been sick since Sunday and finally feel a little human today :) Well I can at least breath without having problems. I was looking over the lesson I had wanted to post 3 days ago, and I got to thinking about it and it seems any series of Lessons I've done Faith has always shown up. I do believe that no matter what we do in life we need Faith and the Lord is trying all he can to make sure we learn about Faith. I have thought of doing a word study on Faith, for now though we're going to look at Faith and how Sarah applied it in her life.
Mark 8:35 "For whosoever  will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it."
Hebrews 11:11 "Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive see, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised."
I love reading Chapter 11 of Hebrews I've heard it called "The Hall of Faith," "The Faith Chapter."
I love verse 1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." My husband has a sermon that he preaches on this and I love how he applies it. We have faith in the an airplane, we have faith in a chair, we even have faith that we can walk outside and be fine. So why can't we have faith in God! We don't know that the plane will stay in the air till landing time. We don't know that the chair we sit in won't fall. We don't even know what will happen when we step outside. BUT we apply our faith in each of these things to do as they are to do. That when we walk out side that we'll get to our next destination etc. So why then can't we have faith in the creator of earth, in the one who died for us. Pretty silly if you ask me that we have faith in worldly things but not in the one who gave his life for you and for me.  (taken from my husbands sermon on Faith)
Each verse in Hebrews 11 either starts with "Through faith...." or "By faith...." I was thinking about to the day we packed up all our things, putting a lot in storage. Saying bye to my family and all my friends. Taking a step in faith that what I was doing in following my husband to travel the US and Canada would work out. Was it easy NO! We loaded up our 5 little ones ages 3 to 10 in the van, each having just a little space each, a small trailer with everything else we thought we would need. Drove away trusting and having Faith stepping out "BY Faith". Oh the stories I could tell on faith an how we, The Seavey Family, literally lived "BY FAITH" day by day!
Now on to the lesson Read Genesis 12, 16 and 21
In the story of Sarah, Did she have little faith or great faith?
To start she probably had little faith, but she submitted to her husband! She followed him and did as he ask.
So by obeying the Bible and submitting to her husband maybe it was something like this
Sarah had little faith but she obeyed which gave her Great Faith.
The key here wives is: for a married woman having great faith is found in her obedience to her own husband!
You say, Paula, I really have some of my own dreams and I know my husband has dreams. What about those? Well lets look at the following pts:
1. God will replace your dreams with something better!
You may have a dream of living someplace all your life and raising a large family. Part of the dream my remain such as the large family but God puts in a different place doing something completely different than you had planned.
I had a dream as a young married lady, I had wanted to be married 2 yrs, have 2 children about 16 to 18 mo apart, then wait 2 yrs and to more, wait 2 yrs and have 2 more. LOL
I have no intention of hurting anyone, I pray that if you are a wife and God hasn't given you children that you would see this as an opportunity to take you faith in God and apply to how you can be blessing to others.
2. God will replace your dreams with a special relationship in Him.
Sometimes our dreams will not take place because God wants us closer to him. Do you have a daily walk with God?
3. God will fulfill the dream.
If your dream isn't what God has for you, he will replace/fulfill that "void" for you! Just have faith in God.
Sarah had faith in God, she obeyed her husband, and then God blessed her!
"Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
