I've Been Blessed

How have you blessed this Thanksgiving and Christmas season?
Good Health?
A Job?
A place to live?
Food to eat?
A car to drive?
How about the most important thing of all, Salvation?

Back in May of 1988, at First Baptist Church of Hammond, IN after hearing Dr. Jack Hyles preach a sermon on "Hell". I knew that I needed to settle the fact of my salvation. See when I was about 8 I prayed a prayer with a group of about 50 kids at the church I was attending at the time. As far as I was concerned I was saved, I went to church, I attended Christian school, I didn't do anything really bad. On that Sunday in May though I knew I needed to get assurance of my salvation. From that day till now I've not once doubted my salvation.

Friend, this time of year can be very hard on people. As a matter of fact our family is having a rough spot with a brother in law who is on life support. You know what helps us to get through, we have a God we can go to and pray to. We also have the assurance that he is saved. So yes, though a rough time,  we are at peace that whatever the Lord chooses for his life, He is saved!

My question to you is: Are you 100% sure you are going to heaven? Can you say, I'm blessed? Can you thank the Lord for all he's done for you, Salvation being the most important.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
You too can have this everlasting life!

Merry Christmas Friends!

I've been blessed

Good evening friends! this past week was so full of fun and excitement that couldn't wait to share with you the blessings of the week. I would have come posted throughout the week but my daughter, Tabitha and our granddaughter Audrey were here for a visit so that is the cause for delay. Spent lots of fun, good, quality, time with them.

Just having fun 3 Generations!
Pa and Audrey posing for a picture!
At church as a family! The only and best way to raise a family!
Uncle Sam feeding his niece :)

Uncle Jason holding Audrey on one of our many shopping trips (huge smiles)
My oldest 3 and me shopping!

The Bible teaches we're to train up a child in the way he should go. Well, part of that training is dress, going to church, family and so much more. I've been blessed in so many ways one of which our oldest Tabitha is married and raising her daughter the way she was raised. Praise the Lord for the training my husband and I got to never quit, never give up  and to NEVER allow anything to come between us that would hurt our family. God has been good to our family and I'm looking forward to what God will do with and through our children and grandchildren.

I've been blessed

I've been blessed with having a husband who loves His Lord, His country and His family and He Loves ME!!!

God brought us together at college, to be specific, Hyles-Anderson College. We dated the way the Lord intended for couples to date. God has blessed our marriage. We've been through thick and thin but we've stayed together.

Psalms 33:21 "For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name."
Before my husband an I ever met we both had trusted in the Lord as our Saviour. We both were seeking the Lords will not only in our lives but in the life of our future spouse. Because we followed God's leading we met not only in Church but at a Christian college.
From there we've served the Lord, we've trained our children and raised them to follow in the Lords footsteps. Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. I was raised in church, taught to work, to obey, to love. My husband was saved later in life but he took his training after salvation and has applied to our family.

I have been blessed beyond measure.

I've been blessed

My days got off a little so I'm going to combine yesterday and today together :) Life is wonderful and sometimes it can't be helped that things pop up or happen unexpectedly.

I have blessed so very much over the years and one of the biggest blessings in my life isn't a thing but 2 people! My Dad and Mom! This past Tuesday was their 50th Anniversary and this Saturday they will be renewing their wedding vows. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend but in Honor of them I wrote a letter that will be read to them on Saturday. I wanted to share it here. The Bible clearly teaches we are to honor our parents and to take care them. I have through the years done my best to honor my Dad and Mom not just on Fathers Day or Mothers Day but year around. So yesterday and todays combination is the letter to 2 very special people George and Jane Nofsinger my wonderful, loving Parents! If you wanted to see pictures of my parents you may visit my other blog http://7isheavenforus.blogspot.com

To Dad and Mom,

First I want to say Happy 50th! I love you both very much and I wish that it would have worked out for us to have attended.

Where to begin? How about 49 yrs ago when you welcomed a blonde-haired, blue-eyed baby girl into your home. Funny how I don't remember a lot about those early years. (*laughing) I've heard it's been said that children don't appreciate their parents until they become one themselves. However, I think I would say differently in some areas. See, I know you sacrificed for me to be in Christian school even when it would have been cheaper and easier for me to attend public school. You made sure I was in church and you trained and raised me to be do so much. I'm forever grateful for you both making those sacrifices. Words aren't adequate enough to show my appreciation.
Dad, you have done so much for me through the years. You taught me the meaning of work. You taught me that giving up wasn't an option. You were and are always there for me, and now for your grandchildren. I love you daddy. Through the good and the bad you never turned me away, you always made sure I understood why this or that was wrong and that you weren't disciplining me just because, but rather you were disciplining me because you loved me. Daddy, you are my hero and always will be! I LOVE YOU!!!
Mom, you are my listening ear, my shoulder to cry on, my “sister” as people thought we were as I was growing up. My friend, my confidant. You were always ready and willing to listen to the hours of talking that I could do (*smiling) Thank you!! You also taught me to stick it out no matter what and to always be a friend. A friend who truly cares and wants to help others. Mom, I don't think I'll forget that first time you said, “Just wait till your dad gets home!” I was always excited about daddy coming home. However, I learned really fast not to hear that again. Although I'm sure I did (*smiling) Thank you for loving and caring for me. I LOVE YOU!!!
Dad, do you remember the vacation we took from NC to Oregon in the old station wagon? If I remember correctly we were also pulling a small camper. We had stopped at a Stucky's and because it was hot we all ordered milk shakes. Do you remember you were wearing just as much of your milkshake as you drank?! Mom and I laughed and laughed. Then the fun we had at Santa Land! The heat on that trip was unbearable at times, but you made that trip one of the most exciting trips ever.
Mom, I'll never forget returning from the Bill Rice Ranch and you and daddy had sold our house! Oh, what a number that does to a 11 yr old girl. Nothing like spending a day riding the bus from camp in TN all the way to NC just to turn around and go back to TN. The fun you and I had traveling to Chattanooga, TN. You stuck to the Uhaul truck like glue!! I remember hanging out the window, when you'd let me, trying to get truckers to honk.
These are just a few things of my childhood that was memorable even though I could go on and on with memories growing up. However, I'll skip ahead to 1986, when I graduated from high school, and August came around and I was leaving home for the first time. Mom, I know you cried on and off but If I recall, Dad, you didn't do so well once I was on the plane. BUT until then you were strong and told me I could do it, to trust in God for everything and I would be just fine at college. I cried from Portland, Oregon all the way to Salt Lake City, Utah. Then, from what I was told, Grandma Moltman wouldn't let you drive and she made sure Uncle Ron did the driving. I love all the fun and sometimes goofy letters you would send me at college. I have almost ALL the letters from you and momma while
I was away at college. Thank you both for your love, care, and support through the years!!
Momma, through these years you've been great! Talking me through the first days of being pregnant with my first, Tabitha Jane. Being there as each of the kids were born. It meant more than you'll ever know, knowing my mom would be there for me. Daddy, I'll never forget you reminding me with each pregnancy to be careful to not let the others feel deserted and to always be there for each of the kids. I remember as if it were yesterday you saying, “now in a few weeks this baby girl/boy's life is going to be turned upside with the new one.” As far as I know their little worlds only changed by adding another sibling to the mix. I did my best not to turn their worlds upside down. Thank you for that reminder each baby following Tabitha. I love you both!!
50 Years! Where has it gone? Well, I know where 18 of the years went. They went into you pouring your heart, your soul and your life into me, and I THANK YOU!!! You both have been there when I just needed my Daddy or Momma the last 30 years.

So when I think of George and Jane Nofsinger – I don't think, “oh they're just my parents.” No, because they aren't JUST my parents. For you see, they are my parents plus they are two people who through thick and thin always made sure their daughter was loved and cared for. They are two people who love beyond measure, not only me, but their son - in- law and five grandchildren, now one great-granddaughter, as well as others! When I think of these two people I see two selfless, two caring, two wonderful, two godly people that mean the world to me and that NO words could truly say how much I love and appreciate my DADDY and MOMMA, George and Jane Nofsinger!
I was given a goodly heritage that I prayerfully have passed down to my children and they too will pass down to their children. Dad, Mom, I LOVE YOU!!!

I LOVE YOU and I will forever and always!
Your daughter,

Paula Micheal Nofsinger Seavey

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 31 it's a good thing when a man finds a wife. I also say it's good when you find the man God has for you. I've been blessed how?
1. by waiting on God to bring the right man along.
2. he loves me beyond measure!
3. He is my rock.

How have you been blessed? what blessings has the Lord bestowed upon you.
Count your blessings name them one by one count your many blessing and see what God has done!
When upon lifeso billows count your many blessing.
When up on the mountain tops, count your many blessings.
When in the valley, count your many blessings.
When you don't understand ,  count your many blessings.

I've been blessed with a man who loves God, loves me, loves our children and grandchild.

I will rejoice

Habakkuk 3:18 "Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation."

Do you still rejoice in your salvation? As Christians we should always rejoice in the fact that we received Christ. If you stop and think about it, Jesus didn't have to do what he did for us, BUT he chose to because he LOVED us! John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

As we look at Habakkuk 3:18 and John 3:16 we really and truly have a lot to be very thankful for.
I've not said a whole lot about rejoicing and giving thanks, it's just a thought; to remind us that your salvation is more than enough for you to be thankful for.

Rejoice in the Lord

Psalms 97:12 "Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness."

Rejoice in the Lord alway, and again I say Rejoice!
Rejoice in the Lord alway, and again I say Rejoice!
Rejoice!
Rejoice! and again I say rejoice!
Rejoice in the Lord alway, and again I say Rejoice!

Remember to be joyful
Every day rejoice in the Lord
Joy is part of rejoicing
Others need to see you rejoicing in what God has done in and through you.
In all things rejoice
Christ is the reason for rejoicing
Eternal security should bring rejoicing.

Giving Thanks Isn't A Once A Year Thing.

Hello friends :)

With November 1st approaching rather quickly, and the holidays approaching even faster. I have thought and prayed about what to do on this blog for the last 2 months of the year. I don't post just to post, I post what the Lord has laid on my heart in hopes that someone will be helped, blessed or encouraged from this blog.

So as I was thinking about and praying what to do Thanksgiving is to be a year around thing not just 1 month out of the year. So my thought of a month of thanksgiving was quickly changed. However verses of encouragement and thanksgiving is what I believe the Lord would have me share.

So even though we aren't in November yet the verses will begin today :) Some days will only be a verse where others there maybe a statement with the verse, I'm just allowing the Holy Spirit to lead in what I do and say through this blog.

As I was reading this morning in John 14, the Lord was talking about peace. You know in this crazy mixed up world and with this election (which I'll not go into) we need to seek the Lord for Peace and comfort. John 14:27 says, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

This world can't give us peace! Peace comes from God and only from God. So as you go through the rest of today remember seek the Lord for peace. (My husband just told me as I was talking with him on the phone, and I told him what I was posting today, that last night (I was home sick) our pastor preached on peace). So, even though I've not heard the sermon, I know we can't live on our own peace we need the peace that ONLY our Lord can give.

Friend one way to have peace about your future is knowing 100% for sure that you are going to heaven. If you are unsure of this please feel free to comment or contact me. I would love to show you how our loving, heavenly Father has provided a way for salvation.

Worthy is the Lamb!

Revelation 4:11
"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things for thy pleasure they are and we're created!"

Wow! Worthy of glory, honour and power! A mighty God the one who made all, knows all, is every where at once!

Reading the book of Revelation is exciting. I know we are nearing the end of 2016, but have you been in your Bible? Have you become excited about what you read? Did the Holy Spirit convict you or prick your heart?

As we approach one of the most exciting times if the year, don't leave out the one who made it possible.

Just a thought for this cool, damp fall evening.

When God Opens a door....

Good evening,

To those who follow this blog let me first say thank you. I really don't like to be in the forefront or the center of attention. However, I put myself out there, out of my comfort zone to be a blessing. I realize my blogs have suffered a bit the past yr or so and with some changes coming up i have a few goals for my blogs.

With this blog being more of a devotional blog I decided and prayed about being more devoted to and touching on specific topics.

So for this blog recently we've had a lot of doors opened. The scriptures,  "But my God shall supply all my need according to his riches through Christ Jesus."
Is so very true! God has supplied my need even some I didn't ask for.

I'll not go into detail but recently we had some things presented to us and so we are moving, Again! If you know me, packing and I DO NOT get along. However, a very wise lady told me, "1 box at a time." I did that and I'm still doing that and the door that God opened suddenly became exciting! Not only has he cared for several needs, but he opened the door to exciting things in the future.

So friend, "When God opens a door, go through it." Don't stand in the hall wondering what if, go through and find our what He has for you!

Lord Send a Revival

Good evening friends! I know it's been some time since I've been on, sorry about that but a lot has been going on. As a wife, mom and now Grammie there's lots to do :) Anyway, that's for another day. Today I was doing a few things on the computer and I couldn't help but notice all the negatives, all the political things and very little of God and the Bible. Now I'm trying to make myself look good or anything but I decided to post songs on Facebook. I'm guessing I posted probably 1/2 a dozen songs. After that I found myself singing and looking for things uplifting.

I came across this song:

Lord, send a revival.
Start the work in me.
Forgive my sin, cleanse within, this is my plea.
Take my life and make me what You'd have me be.
Lord, I surrender all, let the revival begin in me.

Friends, that's exactly what everyone of us needs to do. Stop complaining about what we can't solve or control. Trust in the Lord to guide our  country. In order for this to happen revival needs to start in each individual's heart, then in our homes, then in our churches.

What can you do? Pray, read your Bible and let God do a work in you. Be still and let God move in  you then through others through you.

A thought for us to seriously ponder.

Pressing toward the mark

Good afternoon! I don't know about all of you but it's COLD here in Maine :) I'm not complaining by no means because I do live here after all :) As we make our way into 2016, what are some of the marks you are pressing towards?

Philippians 3:13 and 14
"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and the reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

As I was reading this passage this morning I thought back on last year as well as towards this year. God has been so good to us, he has allowed us to be a part of a work that is going forward. I'm so grateful for that privilege I have, and I know God has great plans for my husband, my family and for myself. See, God gave us things to press toward -
A closer relationship with him
A better prayer life
A better relationship with your spouse
A healthier body
and the list goes on and on.

What is your mark?
What have you decided you need to press toward?
Friend, with God's help and with determination You Can and Will reach that mark that has been set before you.

Happy 2016!! Reach for that mark and have NO regrets!

Consider not things of old

Isaiah 43: 18

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

As we all know today is January 1, 2016! Hard to believe that we're in the 21st century let alone in the 16th year of the century.

What will we do with our life during this year?
Will you dwell on the bad of last year?
Will you let bitterness and anger set in on what didn't go your way?

OR

Will you look to the Lord for a better year?
Will you grow closer to the Lord?
Will you begin new friendships?
Will you Pray more?
Will you Read your Bible more?

What exactly will you do?

I'll not share ALL that I plan to do but I because many of you have followed the events of the last 13 months for us, let me say, I plan to go forward. With the Lords help I will put the past behind me. Why should I hold onto that which is no longer. See, although I don't understand past events I know that I can, have and will learn from it. Not only will I learn but I can, have and will grow because of it. I have a God in Heaven who cares for a little sparrow that falls and he cares for me to!

I have lots to look forward to in this year anyways why dampen that excitement by dwelling on the bad of the past. So as the Bible says, "Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old."  So 2016 I'm ready for you! Who will join me?
