Make me a Blessing

Ezekiel 34:26
"I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing: and I will cause the shower to come down in his season: there shall be showers of blessing."

Our former Pastor here in Maine is now on deputation and we've enjoyed hearing from them how the Lord has blessed them. We, my husband and I, have an understanding of being on deputation and it's not always easy. Well, what brought this particular topic on for today is a church I've never attended, however I know the Pastor very well and I probably know all of his congregation also.

The Barnes family went to Grace Baptist in Kearneysville, WV yesterday and their daughter Kimberly was a little down because it was her birthday and she wanted to be with her sisters in Maine. From what I've been told they usually really go all out for Kimberly on her birthdays. Yesterday, 4/14 she turned 15. Well, our church sent her package that she had no idea of in the process of Mrs O'Grady setting up things concerning the package with Mrs Bush the pastors wife in WV the Bush family decided to go the extra mile. So yesterday they were a HUGE Blessing to Kimberly and her parents. They threw a surprise party for her with cake, ice cream, gifts balloons the whole thing. God is a God of blessings.

See because the Barnes family is doing the Lord's will for their life, Pastor Bush is and his church were used as a tool to be a blessing to our former Pastor! I just Love how the Lord works!!

Who can you be a blessing to today?
Who could you encourage today by a phone a call?
Who could you send a card with a few dollars in that could really use it?
Who could you fix a meal for that doesn't have a lot?
There are so many things that we as Christians can do to be a blessing to others.
I love the song Make Me a Blessing

Out in the highways and byways of life, Many are weary and sad; Carry the sunshine where darkness is rife, Making the sorrowing glad.
Tell the sweet story of Christ and His love, Tell of His pow'r to forgive; Others will trust Him if only you prove True, ev'ry moment you live.
Give as 'twas given to you in your need, Love as the Master loved you; be to the helpless a helper indeed, Unto your mission be true.

Make me a blessing, Make me a blessing Out of my life May Jesus shine;
Make me a blessing, O Saviour, I pray, Make me a blessing to someone today.

Who can you bless today?

Growing Up

Today I was searching for Photos of my oldest 2 children and thought about this blog... growing in Jesus through His word. Just as my children have grown so much, we should be growing in the Lord. For fun I'm adding pictures of my 5 children and then will apply my topic Growing up.....

Tabitha when she was 3 wks old, such a sweet heart and as my parents called her a snuggle bug!

William Paul at 2 wks old

 Caleb Robert at 1 month old

 Samuel Maurice at 3 wks old

Jason Maxwell at 2 months old

Tabitha Jane 20, William Paul IV 19, Caleb Robert 17, Samuel Maurice 14, and Jason Maxwell 13

As you see if our children have grown up A Lot! They didn't remain little babies dependent on Mom and Dad but rather they are growing up and doing what the Lord would have them to do.

Just as a new born baby desires milk so do we as Christians desire the milk of God's word. Then as we get older we start eating things like meat, potatoes, carrots. As Christian we get into the meat of the word of God.

We are to grow daily in our Christian walk just as child grows daily in his/her physical growth.
 I Peter 2:2 "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby."

Have a time to study your Bible
Have a schedule that you can follow to read your Bible
As you read your Bible have a notebook that you can write down what you learn.

You know we are to spend time in God's word because that is how we grow spiritually.
Have a prayer time.
Read your Bible
Choose a verse to learn for the wk. By doing this you'll learn 52 verses a wk.
As you finish your Bible reading have another short time of Prayer.

Hebrews 13:15 "...let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually... giving thanks to his name." Thank the Lord for what you learn and what he's done for you.

See my children are growing up because that is what babies are to do. I fed them, took care of them, helped them, made sure that they were raised properly. Taught them the Bible and how to pray, the importance of growing in Gods Word. Today our daughter is a Sr in Bible College and marring a Preacher! Our oldest Son is graduating from High School and going off to Bible College in June to seek what the Lord would have him to do. Caleb our middle child will graduate High School next yr and he feels the Lord would have him go into Evangelism, so he, more than likely will go to Bible College also. See we trained our children in the way they should go..... Our prayer is when they get older they will NOT depart from it. Will all children do as they are trained? Sadly no they won't but if you as the parent do what you know God wants you to do and you train them, then you have done your part in their growth. Once they reach adult hood then they must choose what they've been taught or not.... My prayer not only for my 5 children but for all the children is that they serve the Lord in the area God puts them in. One of the ways they will stay in God's will is the same way you and I do. By growing in his word and learning daily.

Psalm 63:1 "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee..."

Read your Bible, Pray every day, Pray every day
Read your Bible, Pray every day and you'll grow, grow, grow.....

Neglect your Bible, forget to Pray, forget to pray
Neglect your Bible, Forget to Pray and you'll shrink, shrink, shrink....

Which of these do you want to do?? A baby can't shrink he can only grow but as Christians our spiritual growth depends on if we Read our Bible and Pray daily or if we neglect the Bible and forget to Pray daily.

May God bless you as you Growinjesusthroughhisword!

See How Great God is?

Psalm 89
1. I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
2. For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.

My God is so great so strong and so mighty there's nothing my God can not do! For You!

God is a Great God, he's a Strong God, he's Mighty and yet there's NOTHING he can not do! WOW!!! To think that Nothing is to small or to big for God!

How Great is your God?
Can he get you through a trial?
Can he get you through an illness?
Can he get you through financial problems?
Can he give you what you need?

The answer to all these and many other questions, is Yes! He can!! Today was full of heartbreak, hopes, and prayers. See to start our weekend this past Friday, we received a call that one of our members was having added health problems. As a new Pastors wife, I was thinking how am I suppose to be a blessing when I've never been there? We, my husband and I, prayed that the Lord would be with this family. We went to their home wanting to be a blessing and we left on cloud 9, so to speak. This wonderful couple Knows the Lord! They know he's in control! We went to encourage them and to be honest I think we left more encouraged. The let their faithfulness be known, they know they serve a great, strong and might God.

On Sunday after the morning service I check my messages, to learn that a very Dear friend of mine, her husband was taken to the hospital due to a stroke. I'll be honest, I went in my room and cried. This family has been so very dear to me and they have been such an encouragement to me that to hear of this was heartbreaking! You know though, I know this couple knows that they serve a Great, Mighty and Strong God! After praying for them I had a peace that they would be ok, yes there are some problems from the stroke, but God is a God of grace, mercy and strength!

Even through trials, sickness, heartache or whatever you are going through today we can remain faithful to our Lord.

See I serve a Great God! He knew where we needed to be way before we knew. God knew that my husband and I could love and be a part of family here in Maine; while still loving and having friends and family in other states. Yes, the one family isn't here in Maine, but we can and do love and care for them. So:

See How Great God is? He is so great that I have to tell others about him!
See How Strong God is? He is so strong that I need worry about a burden being to heavy to carry, because my God will help to carry that burden.
See How Mighty God is? He's the mightiest of all!

So I ask you, how Great is your God?
Do you believe he will see you through that trial?
Do you believe he will take care of you?

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations!

Are you letting people know how faithful God is? Are you sharing the Love of the Lord, his greatness, his strength with others so that they too may experience his mercies.

So many today are "hoping" that God will hear their prayers and answer them. There's no need to only hope, they can know! Are we going to show them how they can Know? Go ye into the highways and hedges.... Sing of the mercies of the Lord.... Rejoice in the Lord.... I can do all things through Christ.... There really is no reason for us not to share the Greatness of our Lord.

So as you close out your day or maybe begin it, maybe you'll want to sing today:

"My God is great, so strong and so mighty! There's NOTHING my God can not do!!"

Need

But my God supply all my Need..... Do you really believe this?
Ok, I will admit recently as in just a few days ago, I was going through this, we need this, and this, and that. We have this and this and that that we need this or that for. Well, God is good!

Today we went to H & R Block, NOT my favorite place until we came to the end of the 2 hrs of him working on our taxes. Yes, I said 2 hrs! Last yr was one unique yr and when it came to taxes oh boy! Well, he was going through telling us you'll get this and this and your getting this from WV, this from MD and this from ME and then he gave the total from Federal, I had time not getting excited!!

Our trips to WV and OH are now going to paid, the money for the suits for my boys we can purchase. Plus a few other things.... GOD is a good who supplies your NEED according to his riches in glory.
See even though things were rough last yr, we tithed, we stayed in church, we cont to work in the ministry and Now we are getting the monetary reward here on earth. BUT if we had of said well, we only are getting $100 for the wk we aren't going to tithe or pay that bill, then God couldn't of blessed us!

So friend no matter what remember,  God will supply your Need!

Listening to the Holy Spirit

 I was asked this past week I don't post here daily. I thought I'd share why I don't post daily.
See I could come on here and post just anything, but would it be "Paula-ology" or would it what the Lord has laid on my heart?" See, there's been times I sat down to blog but didn't have a theme, or scripture and I knew that Holy Spirit hadn't laid anything specific on my heart.

There are times that I've finished my devotions and knew I needed to share what I had learned. You may ask well, don't you need to always share what you learned? The answer to that could go either ways, but sometimes what I've learned is personal for what I need that day. See, I had to explain to someone very dear to me that I don't share EVERYTHING on facebook, on my blog, because NOT everything needs to be shared.

Yes I share a lot because God tells us to share his word, to go into the highways and hedges giving the gospel. It doesn't tell me to share every little thing of my life with the world.

Mrs Hyles, wrote a book titled "Life viewed from Goldfish Bowl" (I believe the title is correct) anyway, as a Pastors wife my life is no longer just mom of 5 wonderful children and wife to the greatest man ever. It's now become this:

You may laugh and say your not a gold fish and we're not a cat.... but in some ways a Pastors family is that gold fish and the people or "cats" watching very closely what we're doing. So in our lives even though we're human just like all others we are watched extra, and closer.

I wish I could of found Mrs Hyles book to put a few of her quotes on here, but my books are still in storage *smile as I patiently wait for us to move into our own home.

So when I don't post regularly I'm wanting the Holy Spirit to lead in what I will say. This actually took a rabbit trail from where I was headed but if I write what Paula wants to say and not what the Lord would have me say, I may say something wrong or miss leading.

So it's not that I don't want to share things with you, it's I'm waiting on the Holy Spirit, maybe I'm slow or don't always listen, but I want to make sure all I say, write, type, do if see from a out side the goldfish bowl, it can't be said she's just like the world.

Which reminds me of something my Preacher/husband preached on Wed night out of I Peter 1:2 ~ he said we are to be sanctified. What does that mean? It's simply that we are set apart. Set apart for what? You need to seek the Lord's guidance what does he have you set apart for?

Maybe you have been set apart, sanctified to be a piano player, or sing in a choir, or be a nursery worker. Maybe the Lord wants to set you apart to be a school teacher, bus worker, a Pastor, Missionary, maybe the Pastors wife. You'll never know unless you set apart a time to study your Bible, Pray and seek the Holy Spirits leading. I'm not perfect by no means, I just want to be and do the best I can for my Lord and if being separated, sanctified and Holy spirit lead is what it takes, I'll through Christ do the best I can to be that.

Although not always fun, are you willing to be in the fish bowl?

 Are you willing to be watched VERY closely?

Till the Storm Passes.....

Till the Storm passes by

In the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face, while the storm howls above me, and there's no hiding place, 'Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry, keep me safe till the storm passes by.

Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more, Till the clouds roll forever from the sky; Hold me fast, let me stand in the shadow of Thy hand, Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

I love storms, I love watching the lighting and hearing the thunder. But the storms of life aren't fun to watch. Are you in the midst of a storm? Just hold on and let God move. He has a reason for this storm. I don't know that I would say our situation right is a storm, but it's rough. We have to depend on God to get us through.

The Father has a plan, though it's hard to see it now. You feel you're walking all alone, but He is there no doubt. When the storm around you rages and you're tossed to and fro, when you're faced with life's decisions, not sure which way to go: Stand still and let God move. Standing still is hard to do. When you feel you have reached the end. He'll make a way for you. Stand still and let God move.

The Sun will shine again.... I remember the time when I first knew the Saviour, When the sunlight of blessing so flooded my heart. Oh the sweetness of the "first love" with Jesus so near me, And I thought such devotion would never depart, Let the sunshine again, Let the flow'rs bloom again, Stir the embers of love in my heart! Holy Spirit reprove, then embrace me again; Let the sun shine again in my heart!

So friend if you are in a storm remember the sun will shine again!!

God is so good, He's so good to me! Doesn't matter the trail or storm, we'll have the victory in the end :)

Step up Your Game....

Good Morning!

On this past Sunday night my husband preached a sermon, "We need to step up our game" He took in the direction of stepping up in your standards, stepping up in your service for the Lord, stepping up by, stepping away from sin and many other things.

I was thinking about as Parents, employee's, friends, really are area's of our lives. How can we "Step up our game"?

What are ways you could step your game? What program on tv do you watch that you KNOW is wrong but you "don't" have anything else to do that 1/2 that is on. What type of music do you listen to that you KNOW you could step up your game by switching to Good Fundamental Gospel Music. I'm not talking contemporary I'm talking Good Ole Fashion Gospel Music.

Here are a few things I'm going to share with you on how we can step up our game.....

1. Don't complain ~ In whatsoever state I am therewith to be content! What in your life are you Not content with? I will admit I have things in my life that I'm content with, I'm human but I'm working on them just as each of us should.

2. Be Soul winner ~ How often do you witness to someone? I'm talking visiting that's what you do when you want to see someone you've not seen in a long time. What I mean is: Go ye into the highways and byways. Share the word of God with others.

3. Talents ~ what talent do you have that you're not using or using as little as you can. I play the piano but for yrs I've used the excuse, I've not played or had lessons since College so I can't play. Now one of things I'm doing as a new Pastors wife is stepping up my game in playing the piano. Yes, I'm rusty and yes I won't be playing for Congregation's for awhile. But we have a wonderful piano player who's willing to help me "Re-learn" the piano! So what area can you step up in? Piano, singing, teaching a Sunday School class, so many things, that so many can do.

I pray as you go through your day today, that you'll find something you could step your game up in. Maybe cleaning house ~ we are to be keepers at home.
Maybe cleaning up your computer ~ getting rid of the bad and replacing it with good.
Maybe being a better listener with friends, your children, your Spouse~

Lets find an area and Work on it! Make it better! Step it up!

This blog was written by my son.....

My son Caleb Robert is 18 yrs old and he has a desire to serve the Lord. He has such high goals for himself and he knows that the Lord has something for him to do.... His dad, Pastor of SBC Palermo, ME, asked him to write a challenge for the teens of our church. I was very pleased with what he wrote and wanted to share his challenge on my blog:
(I think this can be applied to adults also, make a joyful noise.)

"Make a Joyful noise unto the Lord"
Read Psalm 100

As I read this chapter I was thinking how could this apply to teens. In chapter 100 it talks of singing.
A sign of happiness is singing, and it's the same for Godliness too. When one doesn't sing it could
mean that person isn't happy.
So teens the reason we sing isn't for applause, or our pleasure, but rather for God's pleasure. He tells us to make a Joyful noise to Him. Does it always sound good? No, but we are to sing even it doesn't sound good.

So lets all make a Joyful noise unto the Lord through singing!
By Caleb S.

Looking backwards or forward, Which are you doing?

Job 11:14-17 Verse 16 being the key vr.
"14 - If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
15 - For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
16 - Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:
17 - And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning."

Each of us probably have things in our past that we would like to forget, but Satan keeps bringing it up in different situations. When things are going great and your serving God, ole smutty face throws something in your path that brings up past sins or issues. I can't recall who I heard say this, but then I've heard it from many people is, "Burn your Bridges behind you and don't look back.

What is it in your life that you need to burn the bridge to?
What person in your past hurt you, molested you, beat you (I'm speaking of a spanking from your parents) I mean physically abused you. What is that thing you did that caused heartache and pain to you, your friends, family... You know those things we need to do as Job did in verse 16, "Because thou shalt FORGET thy misery...." If you have accepted Christ as your Saviour there is NO need to hang onto that past sin or wrong. God has forgiven you and buried it the deepest sea, What sin are you talking about? is what he says!

When Jesus died on the cross he took my sin,  your sin, the WHOLE Worlds sin upon his shoulders and buried them in the deepest sea!!! WOW!!! When he see you and me he see us as "White as Snow" Let by gones be by gones, burn that bridge, stop dwelling on what could have been and focus on what is NOW!

Back in February, I realized that if the Lord was going to use my family here in Maine, I had to stop saying, "What if?" What if we had of stayed in West Virgina? What if this or that hadn't of happened? Well, friend what if it hadn't of happened, would you be where God wants you today? See back in February I told the Lord, that even though Maine wasn't my choice of places to live that if this was where we were to be, I'd adjust. That is exactly how I said it to. You ask why did you say adjust, well if you don't know me, I'm a city kid from NC! MUCH warmer there than in Maine. After all here it is March the 19th and we are having a snow storm... Now do you see why I said adjust?! :D LOL So yes, I had to say, Ok Lord I'll adjust if this is where you want us. Would you know that on March 10th, I got my answer that, Yes, we are where God wants us to serve. I'm so thankful that I said, ok Lord I'll do what you want.

So friend Have Faith that God will help you FORGET the what ifs and the sin in your past. He is able to do all things!

"I can do all things through Christ...." You can burn that bridge! You can cont on through life no matter what your past holds! You can conquer that thing in your life that haunts you!

"What sins are you talking about?" I've buried them in the deepest sea!

Gone Gone yes my sins are gone! Buried in the deepest sea, G-O-N-E Yes my sins are GONE!!

So are you looking to the future? or looking to the past?
Trust on the Lord with all thine heart, he can take care of ALL things!

Who's your Life Guard?

"I am the way the truth and the Life...."

Do you ever feel your just drowning in all that is happening? Do you feel no one can help or maybe that no one even cares? Well, friend let me tell you there is someone who knows your life, knows what is in your future and not only that HE CARES!

From Thursday night to even today, I, we the Seavey family, have had a few things come up. On Thursday I was just like, there's no way I can take one more thing! My husband and I were talking and I said to him, "we've had so much thrown at us since Jan of last yr, haven't we had enough?" Then he reminded me of ALL the good God had given us throughout the last yr. In my mind and heart I knew that we have much to be thankful for.

Our Lord walked on water, what do have to dread or fear. I had asked a few people to pray about situations they knew nothing of and I knew when they were or had prayed, not to be spooky or anything, but I felt the peace that ONLY God can give come over me.  Yes, our situation is still there and we still have things to work through, but God is a great God and he can do ANYTHING and that means he can take care of me, my husband, and my children.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart in all thy ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct thy paths"
So, it doesn't matter what we are going through, God will direct our paths if we only trust in him!! Prime example, we came to Maine not knowing what or even why really we were here. We now know why. God gave me husband a life long dream of his, and that was to Pastor in his home state, Maine! We trusted in God allowed him to direct our Paths and now we are in His WILL for our lives.

Rather than saying, NO MORE! Say, God can and will give me the strength I need to make it today!

"This is the day that the Lord hath made I will rejoice in it and be glad"

You can rejoice in the day God gave you, and let him take the trials, disappointments, struggles, heartaches, hardships, or whatever it maybe, Just hand them to God, he will carry the load for you. While at the same time giving you the confidence you need for today!

If today, you are feeling as though you're going to drown, look to Jesus, after all, He walked on water!!

"Rejoice in the Lord alway, and again I say rejoice"

I Love you

John 15:11-13 "These things have I spoken unto you, and that your joy might be full.
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. "

I LOVE YOU! Do you say that people, your family, your friends, your church family?
Those 3 words can be thrown around like a wet rag sometimes. I have had people actually say to me, you say you love me, but do you really?! Now that is something to think about. However as I have told those people, I don't use those words unless I mean it!

When I was a young teen, I was writing a letter and as I closed it my dad was walking past as I was writing Love you, and the signing my name to it. Dad asked me, "Are you just saying those words or do you mean it?" Dad then explained to me that Love can be said and meant in different ways, but such as at the end of the letter it should mean exactly as you say I Love You. I didn't really understand completely why it mattered but as I got older it began to make sense.

I have several dear friends whom I've told, "I love you" and I let them know right off that when I told someone I loved them, I sincerely meant it! One person didn't seem to believe me but now as time has gone by I believe the person now believes me. Same when I tell someone their my friend I mean it.

See the Bible tells us to "love one another".
As a new Pastors wife, I want my ladies to know I love them. Not just because I'm the Pastors wife, but because they are the people that God gave me to me Love.

We are all human and we all make mistakes, but that will never stop me from loving them. Yes they aren't my family, but they are family through being our church family!

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

Friends are special people, and when you tell someone you're their friend, it shouldn't be until you decide you've had enough of their whining, or complaining, or even craziness. A friend is a friend forever!

I hope if you click on the picture to the left you can read the poem. This is how I feel about my friends. God brought us together for a reason and I'm not going to bail just because I don't feel like being friends any more. I'm going to be there as much as I can for you. I had wanted a picture or two of friends but they aren't in this computer....

I LOVE YOU my friends!

I love my future son in law and my daughter! They are a match made in Heaven! When we met Thomas R Reapsummer for the first time, my husband and I both knew this man was for our baby girl Tabitha Jane. He's not only proven to be what Tabitha needs but she has proven to be what he needs. I"m proud to say they will be married June 22, 2013 and we are very proud of them. We love Thomas not because he's going to marry our daughter but because God brought him into our lives. He is part of OUR family (well almost :) )

We love these 4 boys, even though they do drive us crazy at times. Then what would a family be with out wild (in the good sense) boys.

William Paul IV our oldest on the left back has really made us proud! We love him and thank God for his love for God, for his desire to do right!

Caleb Robert, who is 18 today, beside Paul IV. He is our family "clown" not always but he can make the roughest day seem better just by his sayings. He wants to serve the Lord through Evangelism.

Samuel Maurice, right bottom and Jason Maxwell, left. My 2 youngest although they really that young any more ages 15 and 13. Hard to believe how quickly they've grown. We are very proud of them and Love them also.

I've posted these various pictures not to just fill a page, but to show you I don't love because I feel like it, but because God tells me to love one another. Yes, my family I love because they are family, but I love them also because God gave them to me! It's not a chore it's a privilege.

I have 2 very special ladies in my life whom I call Mom, other than my own mother. These 2 ladies, I've grown to love as though they were my mother. Did I have to love them? No, but I chose to and these to wonderful ladies have given, listened, and helped me in many ways. God brought them into my life at different times. One while at college and I NEEDED an extra mom then :) She was able to help me when I had a rough time at college and couldn't get up with my Mom.

Then the other lady was while we lived in WV! She was, and still is such a blessing to me! There were times I needed someone to talk to and again getting up with my mom wasn't possible but Mom H was there. You know it doesn't hurt to love one as your own family.

Love is wonderful thing! So if you just take these scriptures and do as God commands, "That ye love one another, as I have loved you."

Pie in the ski

Good afternoon, as I sat here earlier today thinking of what I could post I had started several topics but they just didn't go anywhere. Then I was reading several blogs that I follow and I had read my Bible this morning but still there just didn't seem to be anything that the Lord was laying on my heart to share today.

When I post I want them to be something that will help others and/or something that has helped me through life. I started not to post at all today even though it's been several days since I had posted, but I just felt something was in my brain that just was stuck and couldn't escape. LOL :) So prayerfully something in this post will encourage or help someone.

I'm not sure where it came from, but the phrase, "Pie in the ski" came to mind. So, I looked up the phrase and here's what I found the man who wrote was very critical of Christianity. After reading that I started thinking that was back in the early 1900's and one man wrote a poem that well, he didn't really understand the Bible, heaven, or Christians.

Serving God is an honor, and we don't have to starve to do that. We can have our "pie" right here.

This is the Poem that Joe Hill wrote in 1911: (which by all means I believe that Salvation is crucial and that caring for the poor and hungry should be done also.

Long-haired preachers come out every night,
Try to tell you what's wrong and what's right;
But when asked how 'bout something to eat
They will answer with voices so sweet:

Chorus:
You will eat, bye and bye,
In that glorious land above the sky;
Work and pray, live on hay,
You'll get pie in the sky when you die.

The starvation army they play,
They sing and they clap and they pray
'Till they get all your coin on the drum
Then they'll tell you when you're on the bum:

Holy Rollers and jumpers come out,
They holler, they jump and they shout.
Give your money to Jesus they say,
He will cure all diseases today.

 If you fight hard for children and wife
Try to get something good in this life
You're a sinner and bad man, they tell,
When you die you will sure go to hell.

Workingmen of all countries, unite,
Side by side we for freedom will fight;
When the world and its wealth we have gained
To the grafters we'll sing this refrain:

You will eat, bye and bye,
When you've learned how to cook and to fry.
Chop some wood, 'twill do you good,
And you'll eat in the sweet bye and bye.

Then I found where he mentioned the dear old Hymn "In the Sweet Bye and bye"
The Author:Sanford E Bennett wrote this song in 1868

There’s a land that is fairer than day,
And by faith we can see it afar;
For the Father waits over the way
To prepare us a dwelling place there.

Refrain:
In the sweet by and by,
We shall meet on that beautiful shore;
In the sweet by and by,
We shall meet on that beautiful shore.

We shall sing on that beautiful shore
The melodious songs of the blessed;
And our spirits shall sorrow no more,
Not a sigh for the blessing of rest.

To our bountiful Father above,
We will offer our tribute of praise
For the glorious gift of His love
And the blessings that hallow our days.

We need to make sure that people are saved and on their way to heaven! Soul winning is so crucial and we each need to be out there telling others of Christ.

Just to think that somewhere beyond the clouds is a wonderful place called Heaven! I don't know about you, but I can't wait to get there!!

John 14:2-3 "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself: that where I am there ye may be also."

Today the term Pie in the Ski means to happiness, maybe something good will happen soon. Just an interesting thought I came across.

At the Cross
At the Cross
Where I first saw the light
and the burden of my heart rolled away
It was there by grace
I received my sight
and now I'm happy all the day!

Or

This world is not home I'm just a passing through
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue

Are you in your Spring or Fall???

Are you ready for Spring?
You know Spring is a wonderful part of the yr.
Everything is green, brand new, and beautiful!

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3:1

There's a time for things to grow and things to die. That is what I really enjoy about the seasons.
Spring time - things are brand new
Summer - they get the sunshine and rain needed to live
Fall - things begin to die
Winter - brings the beautiful white snow and watering the seeds for Spring growth.

"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven:"

In people lives we have Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter so to speak.
When you receive Christ you are in your Spring and Summer time.
Growing Spiritually through Prayer, Bible reading, Preaching, soul-winning.
Don't allow your walk with God go into the Fall, that could be a time
you're back sliding, or things to you seem to be dieing. This will happen because we're human.
Since we are human we will have "fall" in our lives but we want to make sure we don't
stay in that part of life. If you are down you want to work towards Spring again.
Don't become satisfied with where you are spiritually, We need to constantly be growing.

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
Psalms 119:105

We need to allow the "snow" of winter cleans us to help us grow again in Spring.
We can allow the freshness of winter be that lamp unto our feet.
As the snow is beautiful right after it falls, so are white as snow to Jesus as a Christian.
Allow the "watering" of the snow to help you grown in closer to the one who died for you on the Cross and the one who rose again and lives in Heaven.

As we await his return we should be growing more like him each day.
After all we are created in his image.

At the cross, At the cross where I first saw the light
And the burden of my soul rolled away
It was there by grace I received my sight
and Now I am happy all the day.

As Adam and Eve once walked in the Garden of Eden and enjoyed all the beauty God had given them, you and I can have fellowship with God and enjoy all He's given us.
During your Spring time of life, GROW!

Read your Bible Grow every day
Grow every day
Grow every day
Read your Bible Grow every day
and you'll Grow, GRow, GROw GROW!!!

This is what we want to do is Grow in the Lord and become MORE Christ like!
Did you know Christian means Christ Like!
That is how we are to act, speak, do is Christ Like.

So as the verse says:

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:"
Ecclesiastes 3:1

You will have your "Fall" but be sure to hurry back to "Spring"

The Tongue

James 3:5 "Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things, Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!"

Oh be careful little tongue what you say
Oh be careful little tongue what you say
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little tongue what you say.

As a parent I've always known that what you say there's a 99% chance your little one will repeat you. Well, it doesn't stop when they get older, you still need to be careful what you say around your teens also but they do talk. This weekend I have 2 of my little nephews here and they are like little Parrots :) Are you careful what you say? The tongue maybe little but it can be very harmful!

Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers."
Vr 30 "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption."
Vr 32 "And be ye kind one to another tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

This weekend I'm watching 2 of my nephews, their momma is very sick and has been in the hospital for 32 days, just getting out yesterday. To help their dad out we have them. Well, today Caleb my 17 yr old was talking to the youngest who's 4 and explaining that lieing is wrong. Well, as I was listening in on this conversation my nephew says to Caleb, if lieing is wrong isn't saying mean things wrong too. He's one smart little boy! I thought of the verses I posted from Ephesians for Christians corrupt could be saying a mean thing to your brother, sister, a friend. It may not be a curse word but if it's not uplifting, encouraging then certainly it's not clean and therefore it would be corrupt communications. We are told clearly in the Bible that it's not to come out of our mouth.

Do you want to grieve the Holy Spirit with corrupt communications?
As adults, teens, children we need to guard our spirits. We need to keep our heart, mind and soul clean and clear of corrupt things.

When someone does say something to you that isn't right, remember to forgive them. Just as verse 32 says, "...even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."  You need to forgive!

So as the song says,
Oh be careful little mouth what you say
Oh be careful little mouth what you say
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little mouth what you say!

It takes only One "1"

It only takes One to make a difference.
One to make a change for better or worse.
The Value of One! This song says it so well....

Could it be that up in heaven,
God is sitting on his throne
Anticipating another sinner
will soon become his own.
Years of wasted living and
years of toil and strife
are just about to be over
as he receives the gift of life.

Go sound the horn
strike up the choir.
A sinner is saved.
Saved from the fire
no more in darkness
he's received my son
all heaven rejoices
that's the value of one

the holy spirit has been working
to soften up a heart
all he needs is a willing servant
to simply do his part
can you imagine up in heaven
the joy there is that day
as a sinner bows his head to pray
can't you hear the father say...

start construction on the mansion
there on hallelujah street
he doesn't know yet what is waiting
when the savior he'll meet... he'll meet

go sound the horn
strike up the choir
a sinner is saved
saved from the fire
no more in darkness
he's received my son
All heaven rejoices
That's the value of one.

In Ezra we see how it only took 1 to make a difference, just as it only takes one to witness, it only takes 1 to take a stand, it only takes 1 to speak out.

"Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore."

He, Ezra, prayed for the people to come. Started off only Ezra praying! Just 1 person.
God wants 1 - Ezra stepped up! Will you?
When 1 steps up, when 1 prays, when 1 serves there is Hope!

You ask, how can I make a difference? Well, my friend as a Christian be willing to step out.... Back in 1982 I made a decision to step up and go to Mexico. I worked hard in my Youth group to be able to go on that trip. Now there was I believe around 70 of us who went on that trip, but each of us as individual teen girls and guys had to make a decision to do our part or not. While in Mexico we were challenged to give our lives to Christ. Not as a group but as individuals. Many of us did that very thing. As 1, You and I can make a difference in the world.

You can make a difference as an Interpreter for the deaf, as a choir member, as a nursery worker, as a wife to a missionary or Pastor, as a bus worker, as a teenager, as ANYONE!!! The Value of One being saved depends on the ONE that steps up and says not my will but thine Lord!

Will you be that ONE "1"?

Are you Pleasing God through study and work?

We are nearing the end of the month, are you up to date on your Bible reading? It's not to late to start... on the right hand side of my blog is a schedule your welcome to print off and use.

Remember we are to study the Bible, meditate on His word and through that we will grown in the Lord.

~~~~~~~
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed...."
Ok, honestly who likes to study? I will be honest with you, I don't especially Science and Math. As kids we had to study our lessons or we didn't pass our classes, and might I add, that was one thing that my parents were really hard on me for, Studying!  I didn't like it at all! Unfortunately my grades showed it too. However I eventually got the idea if I wanted mom and dad happy I better study :)
We can take that same word, Study, and apply it spiritually as it is used in the verse. We are to study Gods Word! When we do this we are making God very pleased. Just as when I finally realized, that spankings, or being grounded was not worth not studying, I took and study to be "approved" of by parents. Study the Bible, memorize it, let it become you. Just as you read any book and many times you can quote word for word what you read, make your Bible even more so that way!!
"...a workman that needeth not to be ashamed...." When you work, are people amazed by your work or the lack of work? Over the past 19 yrs my boys have been taught to work. I love the idea that my 19 yr old who's living away from home now, still works and does as he was trained. Did they always work as they should? Of course not, they are children. Some time ago, one of my boys was asked to do a job, and because it was a job he didn't care for he didn't do his best. The person who had asked 3 of my children to help him came to us and said, I would ask 2 of your children to work for me again, but I will not have this one. Now this particular child has since changed the way he works. Why? Well one he knew that as a Seavey child and considering who his daddy is that was a bad thing! Now that same child is looked to by friends, family and others as a hard worker and he has no reason to be ashamed because he works hard and does his best.
Our work for the Lord should be the same, to where we need not be ashamed or worried about what others will think, mostly what the Lord thinks. So when you go about your day, and an opportunity arises that you can witness to someone be a workman of God and do as he would have you do. As a choir member, piano player, nursery worker, evangelist, missionary, pastor work to where there no need to be ashamed. We are to be "A workman that needeth not to be ashamed"
So lets all "study to shew thyself approved" as well as "a workman that needeth not to be ashamed."
Chocolate Chili?
This is from an insert that was in our bulletin in December... I wanted to share it with you:
Genesis 1:29 "And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."
It has been written against, outlawed, and is the original "food of the gods." Modern science is finding that chocolate seems to offer some positive health benefits.
When Cortez and his soldiers came to the New World, Montezuma offered them his people's favorite hot chocolate. But Montezuma's people didn't add sugar to the chocolate. Instead, they added ground-up hot peppers. This was real hot chocolate! The Spanish thought it was terrible stuff. Luckily for chocolate lovers, they did take some of the beans back to Europe. There it dawned on someone to leave out the peppers and add sugar instead. By the eighteenth-century, chocolate houses had become so popular that brewers of alcoholic beverages demanded legal restrictions against chocolate because it was ruining their business.
Today, Americans eat an average of 10 pounds of chocolate per person per year. Chocolate also contains a mild anti-depressant as well as theobromine, a unique substance that perks up up and clams you down at the same time. And contrary to popular thought, chocolate is not addicting.
While chocolate may seem a trivial subject, it has given those who like it a lot of enjoyment. It is one of those gifts God has given us that makes life a little more enjoyable - but is totally unnecessary. And this offers us a lesson about His gracious thoughts toward man.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, You made all that is. I thank you that You have made some things which we don't require, but which cause us to rejoice in Your generosity. Help me never to misuses Your good gifts. Amen.
~~~ This was just a fun insert that I wanted to share with my friends :) I hope though that maybe through this you do realize and remember all that the Lord has given us and that we should be thankful for all things.

Love one another

I've been doing a study on Love and how we are treat one another. Now personally I usually have no issues getting along with others, and eventually I grow to love them. The last 2 moves we've made first to WV and then ME it took me longer to learn to love the people where I was. One would probably say why? it was just another move for you. You traveled the US and Canada for almost 4 yrs you loved all you met. This is true, however our move to WV was different then our move to ME well that was really different too.

I'll back up to 2007 when we first moved to WV. I won't go into detail but our family had been hurt, we were exhausted not only physically but emotionally. It seemed a door was being closed and we didn't understand why. We were serving the Lord raising support but the door was closing...

There was a group of young ladies at Shenandoah Bible Baptist that well they were excited. Michelle H, Alisha H, Michelle H, and Stephanie M. Now these girls weren't and are not your normal teen girls. They are excited, they LOVE people and they wanted to make sure that we knew we were welcomed at church that Sunday evening we joined. As I think back to the Sunday in March of 2007 and I think about those 4 young girls, I John 4:7 comes to mind, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God: and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God." These girls love God and they were be examples of this verse.

As time went on we, my husband and I, joined the Deaf Ministry and fell in love with Bro and Mrs Ken D and the deaf that attend SBBC. As I watched Bro Ken, Mrs Johanna, Mrs Carmen work with the deaf it was evident that they had taken I John 3;11 and were living it, "For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another." They loved the deaf and they wanted them to know about the love of God and how they to could have Jesus as their Saviour.

I could go on and on, Bro and Mrs Ed H, Bro and Mrs Mike B, our Preacher and his wife they loved and they knew how to love! Now I'll not belabor what happened last yr as in a past post I talked about our move to ME. I just want to say that the love I have received from our friends and family in WV and then the love that has been shown us here in ME is amazing! God knew I couldn't take a full yr to love the people of Second Baptist Church, that I needed to learn to love them sooner. John 13:34 "A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." In the past few months I have grown to love the people here in ME, the weather NO :) but the people YES!

The kids song, The love of Jesus is so wonderful, oh the the love of Jesus is so wonderful, the Love of Jesus is so wonderful oh, oh, wonderful love! It's higher than the mountains, deeper than the ocean and wider than the universe, oh, oh, wonderful love! Is so true and although I can't love higher than mountain or deeper than the ocean and yes wider than the universe I can show God's love in the way I know how.

So to all those wonderful people at Grace Baptist in Wilmington, NC; Highland Park Baptist in Chattanooga, TN, First Baptist of Hammond, IN, Hillside Baptist in Hixson, TN, Shenandoah Bible Baptist in Martinsburg, WV and Second Baptist of Palermo, ME. THANK YOU for loving me and teaching me how to love others!!

We serve a loving a God and I through him will love others as close to what he loves as I can!

Obedience

Obedience brings God's blessings. This statement was in my sons History Pace and while he was doing the work he said to me. "Mom, you know this is so true." Now my son is 13, and when he was 3 we moved into an RV where his bed was table top when collapsed. ALL of his toys went into a little box that was not very large. I forget the dimensions now, but out of the 5 children Jason learned at an earlier age about blessings from God.

Now I don't mean that the other children didn't see blessings from God but Jason learned about blessings in a different way at the age of 3 than the other 4. The others had seen God bless our family but not the way they and Jason would see over the next 4 yrs of living on the road. Living by faith and depending fully on God to provide what we needed from day to day.

So in accordance with Obedience brings God's Blessings what are some things that God would bless you for?
tithing
Reading your Bible
Praying Daily
Following His will not yours
Obeying your elders

The list could go on but these are the ones that came to my mind immediately upon thinking of this topic. Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth: but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therin: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."  We can receive blessing from God through meditating on his word.

"Pray without ceasing." Through prayer we not only see prayers answered but we receive blessings from those prayers. For example when we were on deputation my children were praying for Bikes since we had the RV they could be stored and the kids would have something to do when we were parked. Well, our first Christmas on the road we were in NC. They had prayed from Thanksgiving to Christmas for bikes. Christmas eve a man at a church came up to my husband and I and said, "I noticed your children don't have scooters or bikes." We replied yes sir, however they are praying they'll get something for Christmas. This gentleman handed my husband an envelope and said there's enough money for 5 scooters!!! The children Jason at the age of 3, Samuel 5, Caleb 8, Paul 9 and Tabitha 10 all saw their prayers answered!!! See they prayed without ceasing they believed in their God that he would answer their prayers. We as well as the man who gave us the money got the blessing of seeing 5 very happy children Christmas morning!

Have you ever questioned, Why do I need to tithe? Well, the Lord has things he wants to give you but if you don't tithe he can't bless you. If you don't give that which is God's to him, he Can't bless you! My husband has a story he has shared many times about when he worked for Bath Iron Works (now this was before we met) Bill had gotten saved, started tithing as he was taught. Well this particular wk he thought he had deposited his check into his account..... before I get ahead of myself let me back up. Bill paid his bills that wk but had told the Lord I can't tithe to you this wk because I have an unexpected expense. The next wk he took his pay check and went to the bank. The banker says Mr Seavey we are so happy to see you. Bill was like ok, well I come in every wk, the lady says no sir we didn't see you last wk and your account is overdrawn. Bill preceded to explain how he cam in opened his wallet and deposited...... WHAT? there was his check from the wk before in wallet! His over draft fees was EXACTLY the amount that his tithe would have been that wk. See the Lord can't bless if we don't give our tithe, but he will get his tithe one way or another. What blessings did he miss out on that wk or what could God of done through him that he didn't because he didn't tithe? We receive our blessing from God by Obedience.

Following God will. Now in a post a few days ago I talked about this. So I'll not belabor this point. But just think of all the blessing you could be receiving but aren't because your doing your will and not Gods. Just something to seriously think on.

Obeying our elders.... "Children obey your parents in the Lord for this right" I think this is pretty clear, but obedience to your parents, your pastor, your elders, God! well, it's pretty important. You want to receive blessing or be a blessing? Obey your Elders.

Friends, Obedience brings God's blessings is true!!
My children at ages 10, 9, 8, 5 and 3 saw that because Dad and Mom were obeying God they were being blessed, they were being faithful, they were obeying the Lord.

What can you do to show your children that you want God's blessings on your life?

Keepers at Home

Titus 2:3-5
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things:
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children.
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

The top picture here is our dining room table at this very moment clean wiped down ready for the next meal or to just sit around and talk. However what if if was covered with papers, clothes, coats, dirty dishes. trash.... It wouldn't be right. We are to be keepers at home keeping our home in order. This will teach our children to keep things done decently and in order as the Bible teaches.

After I took this picture I realized 2 things were not where they were suppose to be. Now most would look at this and say it's ok. However you have cups on the counter that should have been either in the cabinet or in the sink if not being used. There is also papers on the toaster oven. Now generally one would say this is clean and perfectly fine. I'll say yes, this does look ok but there's a hazard and by it being there the children are being shown you can lay anything anywhere. The paper on the oven is not safe. See little things that we do make a difference in our lives and we are to be the teachers of the younger. Someone is always watching and as the verse in Titus says, "keepers at home" If we as Christians make sure everything is in order in our lives, our homes, our families things would be much better for us.

See I've done a lot of thinking over the past few days, since my husband was voted in as the Pastor at our church. A Pastor is to have his home in order, his family in order.... don't you think as his wife I should make sure that things are in order?! See when it says his home in order doesn't mean he cleans the house, does the laundry, sweeps and mops the floor (although he may help it's NOT his responsibility). So as the wife and mother I'm to make sure of that after all who's the Keeper at home?

Ok the next picture I just took and today is laundry day so I'm waiting for bedding to dry and then this room will be in order again. Does this look orderly and neat done in a way that is pleasing?

I started not to use this picture but you know it's messy, it looks awful, unorganized. YUCK!! What if I left it like this ALL the time? Now the bed would have to be made but I mean the clothes on the foot of the bed, things falling off the bed. It wouldn't be right. I wouldn't be doing what the Bible teaches as far as being a Keeper at home.

Ladies, I know we are busy especially if you home school but there is NO excuse for a home to look like a pigs home. So, why not right now decided I'm going to be a keeper of my home. I'm going to get up earlier to make sure things are done right. Maybe decide that you'll not go on facebook till your home is clean. I mention that because I too am on facebook and it's easy to say I'll do that later. When really later you know won't happen.

So lets remember what our mothers taught us and what we should be teaching our children and be the Keeper at Home God intended us to be.

The River of Life

I've got a river life flowing out of me,
Makes the lame to walk and the blind to see.
Open prisons doors sets the captive free
I've got a river of life flowing out of me.

Where does the rivers of life take you? Do they take you through trials, tribulations, in the valley.
Or do they take you through victories, triumphs and to the mountain tops.

Psalms 23
The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a Table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

I don't know about you, but as I go through the valleys the mountain tops are even more exciting and more refreshing. The Lord has taken our family through many valleys but the mountain tops are just that much more blessed!

So where ever your river life takes you
Remember God is with you through it all!!

When you feel you're all alone, God is there to carry you through.

Your will, not mine

John 4:34
"...to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work."
Mark 3:35
For whosoever shall do the will of God....
Philippians 2:13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

In August my husband was approached about taking the pastorate of a church, at the time we weren't sure what we were doing exactly. We had just left WV and alot had happened there. We were literally heartbroken and simply didn't know what God was doing in our lives. From Jan 3, to May 31 was one struggle after the other, then July brought heartache, then August we made the decision to move all our belongs to Maine, leaving a son still in high school in WV and my daughter who was already a long way from home going further away from her. This literally was making me an emotional wreck.

As a woman, I needed security and honestly didn't feel I had it. We didn't have our own home, we technically didn't have a vehicle, we had to move in with my husbands dad, so many things were happening. Our world as some would say had been turned upside and shaken like a milk shake :)

I have a very dear friend back in WV whom, I texted or talked to regularly about what was going on. She was such an encouragement to me, as well as a Pastors wife here in Maine whom I've known for many yrs. These two wonderful ladies were such a tremendous help, as well as my husband who did all he could to help me through even though he also was struggling with not knowing God's will.

Well in, I believe, October we had a fall revival at our church. After the revival I really struggled with giving in to Gods will. I knew in 2003 when we left Bible college that we were going to Canada. Then in 2007 that door was closed for several reasons of which I'll not go into. Then our life seem to settle down and things seemed to be "normal" again. From 2007 to May of 1012 I would of told anyone, we are serving God here in WV the rest of our lives. Our children were very actively involved in our church there and all was going GREAT!! THEN as you've already read things literally turned our world upside down.

About a month ago I was having a few health issues and I knew, or felt as though God was saying I can make this worse or you can follow through with the Promise you made to me in 1982 while on a Missions trip to Mexico. It was then I remembered while at a meeting with Bro Ashcraft in one of the villages I told the Lord, if you want me to be a Pastors wife or Missionaries wife I will! At that time I also surrendered to be a Teacher. I noticed within a few days I started to get better and things began to happen.

I tell you all this to say, God knows what he's doing with your life. He knows where you need to be and when. He knows who you are going to help. Gods will is 200% better than your will! I told the Lord if he wanted my husband to Pastor in Maine, with his help I would adjust to a culture, a way of life that is totally different from living as a city kid! Which I will say I'm 200% city kid. It was around that time that our current Pastor announced to the church that he would leaving and going into full time church planting for the state of Maine, and that he recommended my husband to be the Pastor.

So.... as some may know who read this. Last wk my husband candidate for the church then today 2/10 the church voted. He was voted as the next Pastor of Second Baptist Church of Palermo, ME. See once you say, Your will not mine, the Lord can do wonderful things through you and your family.

So friend if you are holding onto something, some place, some one that maybe the Lord is trying to say that phase of your life is done. Listen to Him, and he WILL show you His will.

Know How to serve

Philippians 2:3-8
4. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6. Who, being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7. But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8. And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

How many of us really know how to serve? I don't mean just the Lord but serve others. A dear friend of mine knows what it is to serve others, she serves those who need help but taking meals to them wkly. Another dear friend gives of his time to serve his Pastor in preparation for their new church building.

One of my children (don't be shocked they are human too) said to his brother one day, "Why should I do that for you? I'm not your servant!' Now lets stop right there.... Yes, he's not his brothers personal servant BUT if he had, of had a servants heart he would have willingly done what his brother asked of him.

Do we have the attitude my son had that evening, "I'm not your servant!" Or do we want to serve?
After all God took on the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. If God can put himself in the form of servant, why can't we?

What are some ways we can serve?
1. being helpful
2. cleaning up even though not asked.
3. when asked to do something have the right spirit about it and being a servant
4. Having the mind of Christ and being a servant.

Just to name a few. Trust me it's not always easy to put self aside and serve others. If your a mom you're always being a servant for your children. If your married you serve your husband. If you're a Pastors wife or anyone you will be serving others. Sometimes we fail and sin sneaks in and we say NO I don't want to do that. Just remember God made himself into a servant and if he can do that surely we can!!

S - Serving with Love
E - Everyone needs to know someone cares
R - Rewards aren't earthly things but Heavenly
V - There's a virtue in being a servant
E - Eternal rewards will far exceed your servants heart here on earth!

Just remember this too:

J - is for Jesus he is the way
O - is for Others show them today
Y- is for you my friend why don't you come to him.....

If we show JOY in SERVEing HIM it could open a door for others to know the Lord as their Saviour.

Go ye into all the world....

Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel....

Where is all the world? Is it in your neighborhood? Is it in your city? Maybe it is in your state, country or another country. Well, the answer to all these questions is YES.

My world is on Greeley Rd.
My world is in Windsor, Maine.
My world is the United States.
Can I go to all of the US? No but others can.

We can go to Windsor, Augusta, Palermo, Liberty, Summerville all the towns that we are close to.
Another can go to Portland, Rockland, Owls Head, while others can go to Florida, Oregon, or Texas.
Then there's those who can go to Mexico, Africa, Europe.

So we are to do as the Bible says and Go into all the world.... We can go to Europe through our support financially for Missions.

So when I hear a Christian say, I can't go and tell others I'm stuck and where ever they live. It's not true.... we all have our own little Mission field right where we are!

Be a Missionary ever day
Tell the world that Jesus is the way
Be it in the town or country or the busy avenue
Africa or Asia (Maine or California)
The task is up to you!
So be Missionary
God's an Emissary
Be a Missionary today!!!

Go ye into all the world and preach Gospel!!!
