Having a Meek and Quiet Spirit 19 of 22

Good Afternoon, I trust all had a great morning in church! I know I did!!! Well, todays lesson is rather different talking about being missed. It will be on I want to be Missed as seen in the story of Dorcas. Revelation 14:13b "Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them."

Read Act 9:36-43
I have a little more interest in this name that usual. We named our daughter Tabitha after this story. She has proven to be a doer of good deeds with her hands. One of her Uncles, the only who can get away with it, will call her Dorcas on occasion. Now I don't know about you, but when I am gone I would hope that I would be missed, as Dorcas was. Dorcas - was full of good works. When she had passed and when she was raised rather than calling her Dorcas it was said, "Tabitha arise".
Lets look into Dorcas life as to why she was missed so much.

1. A woman who is full of good works is more likely to be missed by others.
Dorcas reminds me of  a Proverbs 31 woman (read the chapter)
Proverbs 16:9 says, "A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.

2. A woman who gives is more likely to be missed by others.
Are you a giving person. Do your children know you as the mom who gives? Does your husband know you as a giving wife? These can be some pretty hard questions.

3. A woman who uses her talents for others is more likely to be missed.
What is your talent? Singing, speaking, writing, Interpreting for Deaf or Spanish or any language, do you play an insturment? Use these talents for others!

4. A woman who gives to the poor and to the needy is more likely to be missed than others.
Do you fix meals for others with a giving spirit or a grumbling spirit. When you help someone can they say the love and care or do they see nothing in your emotions or a bad attitude?

Ladies there is so much we can learn from Dorcas/Tabitha. Be a wife and a mom that works, gives of her time, uses her talents and helps the poor.
