Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
Are you willing to do God's will? God has will for each of us are we willing to be taught, and let the Holy Spirit lead you into God's will.
Just a thought to ponder:
Are you called to be a missionary? Preacher? Teacher? or whatever God may have you be. Maybe a housewife, or mom, or a caregiver.
Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good: lead me into the land of uprightness. PS 143:10

Verse for the Day
II Peter 3:18 "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen."
One of many, of my favorite verses!

Who will you serve?
Joshua 24:15 "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
Who will you serve? Satan, false gods, or the One the Only Lord Jesus Christ?
So many times Joshua 24:15 is only quoted by the last part. We need to look at the whole verse do it you think evil to serve the Lord?
We can only serve one master, whom will you choose?
Do you serve money?
Do you serve things?
Do you serve the devil?
Do you serve the Lord?
So many people think that they can serve both man and God when you can't. You must choose whom you will serve.
I can say, "...as for me and my house we will serve the Lord." We do serve the Lord in many ways. Do you serve your Saviour?

Forgiveness
One of things I find really neat about the Bible is ALL the promises God gives us. A few weeks ago, one of my children was really struggling with forgiving someone for something they had said. It was a very hurtful statement and my child just couldn't find it in himself to forgive.
We, his dad and I, sat down with him and started looking at verses in the Bible on forgiveness. I'm going to list a few that maybe will help you. This past Sunday my son was able to make things right with the person. We didn't push him to do it, we just prayed with him and helped him see through the Bible why he needed to forgive.
Here's a few of the verses we looked at:
Ephesians 1:6 & 7 "To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
The Lord forgave our sins and we are to be Christ like and do as he does. So we showed him how even though we are not worthy of forgiveness through God's grace he forgave us. So likewise, we should forgive those who do us wrong.
II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away: behold, all things are become new.
Colossians 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
These are only a few of many we looked at, but just remember God loved us so much he has forgiven us. Should you and I as Christians do the same? Forgive those who do wrong to us.
The little saying "Sticks and stones may break my words but words will never hurt me." Is incorrect. Words do hurt and hurt ALOT they are not only hurtful but once you say them, YOU CAN'T TAKE IT BACK!!!
So as the children's song goes, Oh be careful little mouth what you say, Oh be careful little mouth what you say, For the Father up above is looking down in love, oh be careful little mouth what you say."
It's a cute song we teach our children, but I think ALL ages need to remember that!!

Thought for today;
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork.
Have you looked at the sky in the mornings or in the evening at sun set? It's absolutely gorgeous!! How could anyone say there is no God?! Just look to the heavens and that is proof enough for me that there is a God.
Just a little thought for you, next time you watch the sunrise or sunset think of PS 19:1.

But they that wait upon the Lord....
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings as eagles they shall run and not be weary they walk and not faint.
Do you wait on the Lord? Or are you impatient and not let the Lord work and do things in his timing.
If were to wait on the Lord we would have the strength that is needed to mount up as an eagle, or to the race and not become weary, or even walk without fainting.
Today I want to look at "wait upon the Lord" I will admit I am Horrible at waiting!! Whenever we are meeting someone I make sure they don't have to "wait" on me but then I find myself sitting there saying, "Where is _____ and saying they should know better than to make people wait!"
Do we do this to God? Over the past 17 days I've had to REALLY work hard at this "waiting" thing. My dear hubby who is a hard working man and who loves the Lord and hates to not be working is without work and things have been rough. However I'm learning to WAIT on the Lords timing. He has the right job out there for my dear husband, and he will provide our need according to his riches in glory.
As a wife and mom though I worry. I'm human and this is human nature to do so. But Since Jan 3, I'm learning to wait on the Lord! In so waiting on my Lord he has not only provided our need but he has allowed others to be a blessing to our family!
-A man who had NO idea that my husband had lost job calls us the day after he lost it an asked, "could your family use a deer?" Answer to prayer for our meats that week and yes basically for about a month!!
-Then during the time we are doing and going helping out some dear friends and especially a very dear lady in the minsitry I'm in at church lost her husband! On the day of his funeral when all our thoughts and doings were focused on her and being a help to that family. God provided more food, a gas card, meal cards for free food at a restruant.... We had put aside our own personal cares and left it at the Lords feet and were waiting on him, by serving another!
I honestly believe that if we as Christians would only wait on the Lord and put aside our own needs and cont to serve him through whatever course it may be, we'll find he'll give us the strength we need to run or walk.
My question to you, "Are you waiting on the Lord?"

2012
Good Evening,
Well, this has been the most unusual first part of a year I ever remember having. Talk about depending on God and not letting ole Satan take control. My dear husband lost his job, my computer wasn't working, my daughter is recovering from gal-bladder surgery. Then a very dear friend is now a widow, raising her 7 and 10 yr old little girl alone!
I look at the "negatives" that have happened in the short 16 days of 2012 and I thought, "do I want to let this get me down or do I want to step up and Glorify God, do his work and be the best Christian I can be". It really didn't take long for me to make a final decision. I'm going to through Christ make the best of everything that has happened in the short 16 days of 2012 and not let Satan win!!!!
As I look go forward in this year I'm going to focus on the Bible, Prayer and serving God!
I can do all things through Christ which strengthenth me!
Rejoice in the Lord
God is so good ALL the time!
But they that wait upon the Lord....
Can you, or will you, do these things? I know it won't always be easy one is because I'm human and so are you. But with the help our wonderful Saviour we CAN do ALL things through who?? CHRIST!!!
I pray that if you have had a rough start to your year that you to will decide to just glorify God and serve him with ALL your heart and soul!
Happy 2012 from my family to yours,
Bill III, Paula, Tabitha, Paul IV, Caleb, Samuel and Jason :)
