A New school yr

Well, we're about ready to start another school yr. Are you ready for this yr not only with the books and the preparation but with God being the in the center of all you teach?

Study to shew thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed.

One of my goals this yr is for the boys to become more in love with the Bible. Yes we'll have our History, Science, Math, English but the Bible is going to be more a focal point more than ever before this yr.

I pray as you begin your new school yr that you will keep Christ the center of your classroom.

Salt in the Kitchen

Colossians 4:2-6
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds;
That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Have you ever forgotten to put salt into something? I know have... I was in the 9th grade at TN Temple High School in Chattanooga. We had a homework assignment to do and mine was to make cinnamon roles. Oh they smelled so good as they were cooking, I took them out of the oven the looked just as good they smelled. Part of the assignment was my parents were to eat one and tell me what they thought. Well, we all took one bit into it.... YUCK!!! It was awful!!! I had left out the salt!!!! The bad part was I couldn't remake them for my grade from my home ec teach.... so I learned a lesson there that one MUST make sure all the ingredients are in before cont. All this to say what we say is "seasoned with salt".

I was reading a little book I got from my sister in law titled "Salt in my Kitchen"  and it made me think of the story I just told you. There are many ways salt is used.
1. It seasons our food. Just like those cinnamon roles I made it I had of remembered the salt they would of tasted great! In the Bible Christians are referred to as the salt of the earth. Think about it if we never used adjectives, adverbs  all the different parts of speech when we spoke. It would be boring!!

2. Salt will cleanses. II Kings 2:20-22
3. Salt can melt things. If you live in an area where you get snow storms or ice storms salt is used to clear the sidewalks and some places use it on the roads. The salt of our talk can melt the cold hearted. Mark 9:50B
