Good afternoon! I don't know about all of you but it's COLD here in Maine :) I'm not complaining by no means because I do live here after all :) As we make our way into 2016, what are some of the marks you are pressing towards?
Philippians 3:13 and 14
"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and the reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
As I was reading this passage this morning I thought back on last year as well as towards this year. God has been so good to us, he has allowed us to be a part of a work that is going forward. I'm so grateful for that privilege I have, and I know God has great plans for my husband, my family and for myself. See, God gave us things to press toward -
A closer relationship with him
A better prayer life
A better relationship with your spouse
A healthier body
and the list goes on and on.

What have you decided you need to press toward?
Friend, with God's help and with determination You Can and Will reach that mark that has been set before you.

Giving Thanks :)
Hello on this bright, windy, cool Monday Afternoon :) Leaves are falling, everything is turning brown but yet it's so pretty out! Have you stopped to just thank the Lord for his beauty?
I've not been doing the daily Thanksgiving on my blogs this year rather on my family blog I'm posting Thanksgiving Scripture and I thought today I would Post the list of verses and let you who only follow this blog enjoy some of what I'm sharing other places as well.

Red Birds, Rainbows & Rubies
After posting about Mrs. Evans the other day I got to thinking about a few of her favorite things.... She LOVED Red Birds, Rainbows and Rubies! Yes these are temporal things but we can have favorite things to enjoy!
What are some of your favorite things?
I know for me it's white fluffy clouds, the changing of colors in fall, Red Birds and Roses just to name a few. I took a few of things and made them and "I love you" from God. I don't see Red Birds all the time but when I do I not only think about Mrs. Evans but that God loves me and the little birds.
When I see a white fluffy cloud, I think of the pureness of God and how our lives should be Christ like and we should have a perfectly white clean slate. Which in Heaven we do because God has forgiven my, your, sins and buried them in the deepest see. When you ask the Lord about this or that, he replies, "What sins are you talking about? I don't remember them any more!" Isn't that a wonderful thing!!!
Fall, WOW!! Red, Yellow, Orange, Green, Brown all over the place just showing the beauty of God and his handiwork.
Roses well that is just my favorite flower they can be red, yellow, white if it's a Rose I love it!! They don't have a particular meaning for me except the beauty at the long stem of thorns. As I am typing this I just though a rose is at the long end of thorns but yet it's beautiful and full of fragrance. That's how our lives should be yes we have the thorns of life but our fragrance as Christians should be sweet and savory to the Lord. After all we are his children and we are to live Christ like. So, friend, what are a few of your favorite things and really think about it as far as why they are your favorite. If you'd like to share them with us I'd love to read it in the comments.

The things we have to leave behind won't matter in the end, it's our treasures that are laid up heaven and reaching for those things before us.
So even though we have our favorite things remember our most "favorite" things should be what we are laying up in Heaven. The crowns of soul winning, of faithfulness, of obedience, of loving others, of serving the Lord and to the best of our ability being Christ like. Just a few thoughts for us to think on.

Rejoice in the Lord alway
Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, rejoice."
How can you and I Rejoice in the Lord always? As I think about this question my thoughts immediately go back to a teacher I had in college, Mrs. Marlene Evans. She seemed to ALWAYS be rejoicing even through her time with cancer, she rejoiced.
Why did she rejoice? Well, these are a few things I have thought of that gave Mrs. Evans a reason to rejoice:
1. She was saved
2. She loved the Lord and wanted to rejoice in Him
3. She was faithful to her Lord
4. She loved not only the Lord but others
5. She didn't let life rule her, she ruled life and made the Best of anything.
These are just a few things that Mrs. Evans, through her life taught me. As we, you and I, face things in life why don't we try to be like Mrs. Evans. One of her favorite verses was Phil. 4:4, in the short time that I knew her; she truly lived this verse. She rejoiced in the Lord and she rejoiced again and again.
So friend how can you rejoice?

3. my church - church family, Pastor and his wife

Break Down
Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me...."
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear...."
Have you ever felt that you were just having a break down? Not in your car, which I have felt that if I didn't park or get off the road my car would leave me stranded. *smile I'm talking an emotional, physical, mental or even spiritual break down. We are all human and we all have things we are going through now I don't know about you but I've always been one (right or wrong) that holds things in till I either blow or break down.
On the way to church last Sunday I started crying and couldn't explain why. Then on the way home after the morning service same thing the tears just flowed. Again going back to church and home that evening. Now if you know me, generally speaking if I'm asked how I'm doing, I try to look at the positive that is happening and will many time with a smile say, "I'm ok". Am I lying? Not really because at that point I've decided that yes, I am fine. Why do I do this? Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ...." This past Sunday and well all week I have not been exactly..... Mrs. Perky.
Friend, what "break down" has you down?
Is it Ministry?
Is it a change coming in the family?
Is it finances?
Is it health?
Is it ___________________ you put in the break down.
As I had, what I call my complete melt down last night, with buckets of tears and lots of talking with my wonderful husband who sat and listened and gave scripture and loved on me I realized several things:
Yes we have some health issues, but we don't have a daughter who had 1/2 her brain removed. We don't have a baby who is in and out of the hospital. We don't a new born with a whole in her heart.
Yes - we have to move in a just over a month. But we weren't evicted, we have a roof over our heads and we are fervently searching for a new house.
Yes my husband is out of work for at least 5 more weeks - BUT God has supplied all our need according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus.
These are just a few things of a very long list of things that we as a family are facing or have to go through. However we know that through Christ we will make it. He will give us the strength we need to make it. He will NEVER leave us nor forsake us.
Lastly is, the Lord hasn't given us the spirit of fear. You may be thinking what is she afraid of? Friend if you have followed my blogs you know we've been through a lot the last 7 months. There is a fear that we aren't in God's will or that we'll make a mistake and be out of God's will. As we know, God doesn't give what we can't handle and he also brings us through what he brought us to.
However, I am human! I am weak and I sometimes as everyone, allow the flesh to take over. Do I want to do that? No and through Christ who strengthens me I don't do it often.
So my friend what is your break down? Are you fearful? Are you trusting in God?
Just a thought and showing that we are people, we are human and we all need a reminder occasionally to simply, TRUST IN GOD!!

What will keep you from seeing the Bright Side of Life?
Will you allow sickness? Will you allow a job situation? maybe a water problem in your home? I know, having only 1 car not able to make to church all the time, or to church events? Better yet, How about not seeing the bright side of life because you just think no one loves you and everyone in the world is against you.
I know some of these are crazy right? Some of these though people actually do allow those things to dim the light of their life by complaining, getting depressed, listening to gossip, maybe you are the one spreading the gossip.....
Phil 4:13 tells us, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
You can see the bright side of life no matter what the struggle, heartache, trouble. I know it may take more to actually see it, but you know what I decided November 27th of last year that yes, Satan may think he's getting our family and that he's going to bring down yet another, BUT with Christ this lady is going to cont. to pray and keep her family before the Lord and with HIS help I'll be strengthened because of what's happened and I can through all things see the bright side of life.
Do I get discouraged? YES!! In the last 2 months I've had days where I was extremely discouraged, I didn't know which was up, I felt as though I was running in circles with no way out. I didn't allow myself to stay that way though. See, I have the Lord, my husband, my children, my (new) Pastor his wonderful wife and Godly friends, to help not only myself but my family through.
So, I say to you, "What are you going to allow you, Not to see the Bright Side of Life?" OR "Are you going to go on through Christ and though dim at times you'll see the Bright Side of Life?"
The choice is yours friend, but may I recommend Phil 4:13 be your way of seeing the bright side of life and cont. to serve, work, and depend on God as though everything was just right.

What do you think on?
Today was our Teen's activity and after lots of fun on the water and attempting not to fall out of canoes or was that attempting to tip them?! LOL We all met over at one of church members home where we roasted Hot Dogs and made smores! Then just before the teens began to leave Bro Cheyenne one of the men in our church said, "I have a question for you... What do you think on?"
Then he called on Samuel - he replied "Soul -Winning", then Mrs Elliot - replied "Thankfulness". I replied - Prayer, Dawn - Praising the Lord, Aliah said, "Learning Wisdom" Jason - Reading the Bible. Then he turned to Pastor Seavey and said what is the GREATEST thing we should think on? Preacher replied "Thinking the same as Christ" Whatsoever things are pure, just, right.....
Friends, not just our teens need to be reminded to think on right, honest, pure, just things but we ALL should. That which we think on eventually comes out in our words and actions because that which is on the heart will come out.
Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
What can you think on that is true? honest? just? pure? lovely? good reports?
Friend so many times it's easier to just say whatever come to our mind rather than applying Philippians 4:8 but as Christian if we are going to think like Christ, if we are going to be Christ like, if we are going to do as scriptures teach shouldn't we think on the right things?!
Most of this lesson was formed from what teens said, when asked "What do you think on?" What if they had of given us the answers of what they thought on yesterday? Or the answers of what they were actually thinking at that very moment? What would we have learned?
I believe we learned from our teens today that even in todays world the young people do learn even when they appear to NOT be listening. They do hear even when we think they are off in never, never land. May I say, "PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOUR TEENS!"
No matter what they are going through if you as Dad, Mom, teacher, Pastor, Youth Pastor, Friend give up on one because he/she is struggling who will be there to pick them up when they feel even God doesn't care. Yes we know God cares more than any of us, but when one is struggling he/she doesn't always remember that.
So no matter your age - "Finally Brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, THINK on these things."
May I challenge you to study Proverbs this month. Who knows I may post a few questions here to see who really accepted the challenge and really tried to learn to change their way of THINKING.

Make your request known unto God
Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God."
Make your request known unto God! You say, but he knows all why do I need to make my request known? We need to pray and ask for forgiveness, we need to pray and give thanks, we need to pray for others, we need to obey the word of God and pray without ceasing. That is why we make our request known unto God.
As you know I've not been on much this month, we were to move in June then it was delayed to the middle of the June then the end and Finally the weekend of the 4th of July we were able to move. Sometimes I wonder if we were suppose to even wait longer..... You may ask why, wait longer? I know all things happen for a reason, but for those who didn't know the last day we were moving things out, I fell and injured my foot to the point that I'm still not unpacked and settled completely into our new home. Then again I see it as we asked for 2 yrs for the Lord to supply a home for us and he did. Our church family have been such a blessing in so many areas. Which they may not of been able to be the blessing they were if hadn't of moved. Then this week found out a few things that has made us ask did we "push" God into giving us a home? We know that God gives us the desires of our heart. We are very thankful for what he's provided for us we've made our new request made knows to God. We, the Seavey Family, will just have to wait and see what God has in store, he provided the home, He'll provided all the needs that come with a home.
Our church had some huge blessing that we prayed fervently for this month. First being VBS! We prayed for a good group to attend and the Lord gave us 51 on different nights!! Not only that but there was 8 precious young people accept Christ as their Saviour! Then to top it off he provided the finances for everything that is needed for running a VBS. Then this past Sunday 3, yes I said 3 of the young people who were saved at VBS came to church and we were able to hold a Jr Church last week!! Now I say we serve a God who no matter what the personal trials are the blessings of serving him are far GREATER! So when the verse says, "...in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known...." Through Prayer, supplication and thanksgiving we made our request known and God answered!
So friend be careful for nothing BUT Pray no matter what! I'll not go into all that has happened this month just because some isn't for me share publicly. However, When God opens a door, step through. If he closes the door don't question it just cont. to pray and wait on him. As humans we tend to question things, and may I say I'm guilty of that, however we just need to all remember God is in control and he knows our tomorrows !

As you know I've not been on much this month, we were to move in June then it was delayed to the middle of the June then the end and Finally the weekend of the 4th of July we were able to move. Sometimes I wonder if we were suppose to even wait longer..... You may ask why, wait longer? I know all things happen for a reason, but for those who didn't know the last day we were moving things out, I fell and injured my foot to the point that I'm still not unpacked and settled completely into our new home. Then again I see it as we asked for 2 yrs for the Lord to supply a home for us and he did. Our church family have been such a blessing in so many areas. Which they may not of been able to be the blessing they were if hadn't of moved. Then this week found out a few things that has made us ask did we "push" God into giving us a home? We know that God gives us the desires of our heart. We are very thankful for what he's provided for us we've made our new request made knows to God. We, the Seavey Family, will just have to wait and see what God has in store, he provided the home, He'll provided all the needs that come with a home.
Our church had some huge blessing that we prayed fervently for this month. First being VBS! We prayed for a good group to attend and the Lord gave us 51 on different nights!! Not only that but there was 8 precious young people accept Christ as their Saviour! Then to top it off he provided the finances for everything that is needed for running a VBS. Then this past Sunday 3, yes I said 3 of the young people who were saved at VBS came to church and we were able to hold a Jr Church last week!! Now I say we serve a God who no matter what the personal trials are the blessings of serving him are far GREATER! So when the verse says, "...in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known...." Through Prayer, supplication and thanksgiving we made our request known and God answered!
So friend be careful for nothing BUT Pray no matter what! I'll not go into all that has happened this month just because some isn't for me share publicly. However, When God opens a door, step through. If he closes the door don't question it just cont. to pray and wait on him. As humans we tend to question things, and may I say I'm guilty of that, however we just need to all remember God is in control and he knows our tomorrows !

Prayer
Philippians 4:6-7 "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
As I was reading this morning in my devotions in Philippians which goes with a book I also use for my devotions titled "A Heart Devoted" this really touched my heart. The story in this book for today is :Grandchildren Need Prayer" but as I was thinking about it, not only do the grandchildren of today need prayer but the children. There is so much garbage out there, when I was growing up we had no cell phones, computers, I pads, I pods, and all the other technology that's out there. As a matter of fact we had a small screen TV, a radio, a tape player and record player. OK, I know I'm telling my age with this :) ;)
As a child I played out side and I could say, "Mom, I'm going for a bike ride around the neighbor hood." Mom was fine with it she knew I would be back in about 2 hrs. Today children can't do this and this is why Prayer for our children and grandchildren is so very important. Now I don't have grandchildren yet but as a Parent of 5 children I'm praying constantly for them.
Here's little excerpt of the story I read this morning..... It ISN'T POSSIBLE! He can't be old enough to enlist in the Army Reserves! Why, I remember when he was just a little lad and ran through puddles and got all muddy.... He almost took us by surprise when he showed us his picture on his drivers license.... Then the car accident and we prayed all the way to the scene that no one would be badly hurt and they weren't..... Then the day he received Jesus Christ as his Saviour. We thank the Lord that all 12 grandchildren have been saved "by grace through faith"..... Then he told us he was joining the Army Reserves, now a 6'2" young man, this had been his dream and now his choice to do this. We prayed through the basic training, then we prayed when we heard he would possibly be deployed overseas.
Friend do you pray for children, your grandchildren? We never know when they will die. The reason I felt this needed to be shared is in the last several months I've been hearing of children dieing before their parents. A most recent passing is a little girl named Reagan, I never knew her personally but this precious child is now with the Lord. Her parents loved her, prayed for her and although we do not understand why, God took her home to be with Him. Her parents will and are missing her greatly, but they have the peace of God that she is in Heaven. Friend if we don't pray for our children, pray for salvation, pray for God's hand of protection on them, Satan will step in and there's no telling what will happen to them.
So my question to you is are you praying for the young people of our nation? The current generation and generations to come will have it much harder than we did growing up. Today's world is NOT the same as it was when I was 10 years old or when you were 13. Yes, there's always been temptations, but not like there is today!
Pray with out ceasing!

Be content
OUCH! Be content your told.... is that always easy? I don't think so. Contentment -
Philippians 4:11 "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."
You will notice that I have underlined, made bold, highlighted and italicized the phrase "...therewith to be content." Why you ask? Well, there have been events in our lives that we, you and I, may not be content with but have you ever stopped to think, God brought us to it, be content because, He WILL take you through it.
This won't be long or elaborate but let me share with you, if you don't do as Philippians 4:11 says and be content, you will be miserable! I realize that when it says "state" it doesn't mean the 48 continuous states. But in this particular situation I'm going to use state, as in where you live.
Has God placed in the balmy, warm Southern states? Has he placed you in the Midwest in Tornado alley? Has he placed you out west where there's desert and lots of wild fires? Or has he placed in the North where there's more cool days than not? No matter what part of the US you are in, if you are there because God sent you there BE CONTENT!
I'm talking to children, teens and adults. You may have struggles which we will all have. You may feel no one understands your situation. Maybe you feel that you've been forgotten by all. Friend, God hasn't forgotten you, he understands your situation and he wants to be there for your struggles. Are you going to allow him to be the God of god's in your life.
I'm currently dealing with a situation that if I'm not careful could make me as an adult to become discontented. However, with God's help and with prayer and the Bible this girl isn't going to become discontented because I know without a doubt that God has placed our family in the state of Maine and there's a purpose behind it." What's that purpose, to be a witness for him and to plant the seed of salvation in as many lives as we can. If our family allows discontentment to set it, who will have won? Satan! That is something I DO NOT WANT!
Friend, "...whatsoever state I am therewith to be content." Are you going to follow the scriptures?
Just a thought for each and everyone of us to consider and ponder.

Believing in yourself
I looked up 3 different words: self-assured; self-denial and self-esteem. I was curious how they all went together.
Self assured adj. Confident in one's own abilities; self-reliant.
Here we see you are confident in yourself. You can do things and your confident in your abilities. One would hope that you greatly depend on Christ in that confidentiality "I can do ALL things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Self denial N The act or power of denying oneself gratification.
Never allowing yourself to be gratified with the act you are doing. Whether it's for yourself for others. Feeling like you really can't do anything that would satisfy another. I love the verse: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with all thy might.
If what you do, say, or plan to do or say will honor one don't deny yourself the gratification of having done a good deed.
Self esteem N A good opinion of oneself; an overestimate of oneself. This is one that I notice many, many people struggle with. Did I? Yes! It took several many months meeting with my Pastor to get to where I knew not Just in my head but in my heart that I can have good self-esteem of myself. Not to the point I become rude, or miss know it all. Trust me I'm NOT a know it all. I love the passage of scripture that my Preacher asked me to read every day for a month and since last May I've read it almost every day without fail! It is Psalm 139 and the one verse he told me to focus on was verse 14: "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works: and that my soul knoweth right well."
This verse did wonders for me!!
Do I struggle with my self-esteem? Yes
What do I do about it? Read and study Psalm 139
How often do I read and study my Bible? Daily (or I do my best) I'm not perfect so I fail at times.
I you have problems with self-esteem, or any of the topics I touched on make it a point to read Psalm 139 daily for at least 30 days! You'll be amazed how God will change your life and you'll be confident and your esteem will grow to where it's not low.
This is the day that the Lord hath made I will rejoice and be glad in it.

What Do you Plan to do In 2010?
I know many people do New Years Resolutions....Well, preacher this morning preached a message that was AWESOME!!
He preached out of Philippians 4: 5-9
"4. Rejoice in the Lord alway; and again I say, Rejoice. 5. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8. Finally brethern, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you."
Preacher spoke on Organizing, Prioritizing your life for 2010 and having a better Discipleship for your life.
1. Make a list of all your priorities and what your daily, wkly, even monthly priorities are.
2. Set times for how long each thing should take. Prayer and Bible reading should be one of the longest times.
3. Then after you know how long each priority should take you then prioritize starting with the most important for each day.
4. You need to follow this according to what the Bible says you should do first.
Some examples: As a wife our first priority is our Husband. NOT our children!
As an employee your first priority is obeying your boss.
As a Pastor his first priority is preparing sermons and staying close to God.
If you want a less complicated life and an organized life in 2010 these 4 simple steps will help lead you in the right direction. Its not a resolution its a way of life.

Words Fitly Spoken
Proverbs 25:11 "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver."
Psalm 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer."
Philippians 14:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report: if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
In looking at these verses words need to be honest, pure, lovely and of good report!! Our words should be fitly spoken. Last night my daughter received a phone call that was VERY hurtful! The young person who called her was suppose to be a close friend. There are a few others that decided it would be cute to start rumors about 5 of our good young ladies in our school. One of which was my daughter. I will not go into details about the rumors. However it made me think. As Christians we need to watch our words.
1. Words fitly spoken won't hurt others.
2. The meditation of your heart will come out of your mouth eventually.
3. Our words should be acceptable by Christ
Phil 4:8 truly says it all!
I went to these verses this morning in my devos, as mother I wanted to lay into a few people. Would of said the right things, my very wise and loving husband also reminded me in anger things are made worse. The motherly instinct wanted to attack, thank the Lord though I let the proper authorities take care of the situation.
Now, my daughter and the 4 other girls now have some pretty devastating things to work through, but they have the support of their parents and a godly principal and the best Pastor ever!!
I love the children's song:
Oh be careful little mouth what you say!
You can say things of encouragement or you say things that are hurtful. So be careful little mouth what you say for the Father up above is looking down in Love so be careful little mouth what you say.

whatsoever things are honest (don't lie to make yourself look good)
whatsoever things are just (spreading rumors is not just but evil. Theres intent to hurt)
whatsoever things are pure (make sure your speech is from a pure heart)
whatsoever things are lovely, (make sure you speech is lovely, or kind)
whatsoever things are of good report (telling the good things such as: Our church is starting a Bible college. Don't be a gossip or rumor spreader.)
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on these things. Think on the good not the bad!

Verse to Meditate on....
With School starting I Love to go through and pick out verses that will be help for my children. I thought I'd share these verses, when we home schooled these verses were the first ones to learn each yr.
Ephesians 4:32
"Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
As parents, teachers and children we all need:
1. To be kind - kindness should always be a part of our every day way of life.
2. Tenderhearted - if you notice a fellow class mate or co-worker having a rough day be tenderhearted with them.
3. Forgiving - if someone does wrong towards you, forgive them! After all Christ forgave and forgives all we do wrong!
Maybe just maybe you'll be considered more Christ like if you do these 3 things.
II Timothy 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
1. Study! As teachers and students we need to study! As the teacher if you don't know your materials you won't do as well. As the student if you don't apply yourself and study it's more difficult to pass.
2. Work - work hard where your not ashamed of your grades.
I Corinthians 14:40
"Let all things be done decently and in order"
As a former home schooler I would have this posted in the front of the classroom and typed out then taped to their desk.
1. If your desk is in order things are alot easier get to.
2. If we do things decently and order imagine how much better our classes, day, wks, months even our year will go!

"And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour."
1. Love - we should love one another! Hate is NOT of God, if we hate someone we can't love.

Be Positive
As Christians we need to remember to keep our speech pleasing to God. We can get into such a routine of things that when we are at church without meaning to or even wanting to we "gossip".
Philippians 4:8 is good reminder for us to keep our thoughts and speech in line
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report: if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Lets all make sure that our speech is true, honest, pure, lovely and of good report. Have you ever noticed how bad news spread so quickly? Let something good happen though what happens? A few people will learn of it but what if double the people that hear the bad heard the good. Imagine how much better things would be in our conversation.
Just a thought as we head off to church this morning. Look for the good, the positive, and the uplifting to speak of. Praise some one in their work this past wk. Praise the special music of the day. Don't be critical of what was sung or how it was sung, don't be critical of the sermon cause you didn't like point 3 and 5, find the good in what was preached and spread the good around.
Tell someone you appreciate them
Let others know what a wonderful person they are and how much they mean to you.
Send a letter of Praise to one who's having a rough day.
Thank the nursery worker for watching not only your little "angle" but the other children also so the service wasn't interrupted.
So many things we can do to be of good report rather than poor report.

Philippians 4:8 is good reminder for us to keep our thoughts and speech in line
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report: if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Lets all make sure that our speech is true, honest, pure, lovely and of good report. Have you ever noticed how bad news spread so quickly? Let something good happen though what happens? A few people will learn of it but what if double the people that hear the bad heard the good. Imagine how much better things would be in our conversation.
Just a thought as we head off to church this morning. Look for the good, the positive, and the uplifting to speak of. Praise some one in their work this past wk. Praise the special music of the day. Don't be critical of what was sung or how it was sung, don't be critical of the sermon cause you didn't like point 3 and 5, find the good in what was preached and spread the good around.
Tell someone you appreciate them
Let others know what a wonderful person they are and how much they mean to you.
Send a letter of Praise to one who's having a rough day.
Thank the nursery worker for watching not only your little "angle" but the other children also so the service wasn't interrupted.
So many things we can do to be of good report rather than poor report.
